Club Anya and Friends Saturday Sketch

Happy Saturday! Hope you have a great weekend planned and the weather is good to you!

Today is Sketch Saturday at Club Anya and Friends and we are previewing a new release Cheeky Chat. She will be available on Feb 1st!  Jen has done another fabulous sketch this week!
I must have been thinking of warmer weather as my card has a spring feel to it, don't you think? lol! I colored Cheeky Chat with Copics (quite a few I might add...) and cut her out. She is layered on panels of K&Co Wild Raspberry DP. I added a spray of pearls and the sentiment is from TGF's Hello Go Round Set.
If you would like to participate with us this week, all you need to do is use a qualifying stamp or digi from The Greeting Farm AND this week's sketch. Please upload your creations to The Greeting Farm Galleria under Club Anya & Friends/Contests and Challenges Saturday Sketch, by Friday February 4th at 8pm CST.

Have a great weekend!
Enjoy!

    Slimming Down...

    Good Wednesday morning!

Today I have a card that I combined two challenges on. There was a Virtual Stamp Night Mini on Splitcoaststampers this past Friday and I always try to do the Featured Stamper Challenge on Sundays. The info on the challenges~

    1. Feb VSN Mini Challenge~ Slimming Down. Michelle tasked us to make a card using stamps that encourage or motivate, no more than two layers, use Kraft or Tan cardstock and any embellishments.
I really slimmed this one down! I don't do a lot of one layer cards but this one wasn't too hard on me!
    2. SCS Featured Stamper Challenge~Click your heels three times, we are going home....Artsy_Em (Emily) has a wonderful gallery and I found myself drawn to her Today I Thought of You card to CASE. I changed the stamp set, placement of focal image and sentiment.

    Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts Butterflies, PTI Signature Greetings
    Cardstock: Kraft
    Ink: Black Memento
    Other: Prismacolor Pencils, Copic Multiliner

Now for my Wednesday Gem...I know that there used to be a database for Stampin Up color combinations but the lady that maintained it decided not to continue with it this year. I came across a link to this one on Splitcoast. What is fabulous about this one is that there is a function to match Copics to SU cardstock! Awesome!! You can check it out here...My Create Ink..Colorlab. If you want to pull up just SU color combos, there are links on the right side of the page. Let me know what you think!

    Enjoy!

Come on over and join us each Tuesday for a new color combination challenge to get your creative juices flowing. The challenge this week is called Soft, Elegant Rides. Love this color combo of Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant and Riding Hood Red! Since I am in Valentine making mode, this color combo is perfect for a manly card. I used a newly arrived stamp set from Our Craft Lounge. Does it ever bring back memories of days gone by. Who doesn't like a Lava Lamp? lol!

The card layout is from this weeks MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge #175.

CHAPTER 47: Back down the Rabbit Hole, turning left...coming to a FORK IN THE ROAD...

    Greetings, Friends!

Today is a BITTERSWEET...although MOSTLY sweet post for the Oh, Alice challenge. Almost a year ago my dear friend Jessica got this crazy little idea one night to dedicate a blog, and a Saturday each week, to Alice in Wonderland. Jess decided to put out a Design Team call. I had done some design team work prior and had made up my mind to take a break and just make cards for fun and work on some of my goals for 2010. When I saw the DT call, I just couldn't help myself. I applied! I did not know Jess personally, just from afar with her fabulous work coordinating The Greeting Farm. I was picked for a DT spot!! Over the next year I got to know some wonderful stampers, my "Twisted Sisters". We came from all over the world and each had their own style of stamping. I could not have had a better experience! I also got to meet Jess in person at Disney in March of last year and we quickly became friends over the most heavenly Ghirardelli Coffee!

Well, after much consideration there are several of us including our "Mad Hatter", that have decided to head back down the Rabbit hole, taking different directions with our crafting.

Oh, Alice will be closing it's doors this week, but will return next week as The Altered Alice, a blog that our Twisted Thirteen member Lynne Phelps has started and will continue on from here.

Here are a few words from Lynne about what you can expect at the Altered Alice:
"In Wonderland, Alice learned that everything changes so the important thing is to be true to yourself. That is true for the Alice in Wonderland challenges as well, which will be changing and growing in new directions under the next Mad Hatter, our own design team member Lynne Phelps. The Oh, Alice! challenges will now be hosted on her Alice in Wonderland artwork blog, The Altered Alice. You will find our same familiar challenge Chapters but they will be in a new monthly form, beginning on the first Sunday of the month and posting the winner on the last Sunday of the month. The design team will provide weekly project posts to inspire you along the way! "

On that note, let's get to this week's CHALLENGE:
This week's mission is to travel "Back down the Rabbit Hole" challenge-back to the beginning-Create a HELLO card OR a "Goodbye" card-it's all about what it looks like on the other side of that Looking Glass, right?

The DT has once again been blessed with a WONDERFUL assortment of Nikki Sivils papers and embellishments to work with as Nikki has graciously supplied the DT with, as well as a WONDERFUL prize pack for ONE lucky winner. The winner will be announced next week on the Altered Alice challenge Blog and also you must link your creations THERE.
In addition to creating a HELLO or GOODBYE card and entering it over at The Altered Alice, the NEW Alice in Wonderland Challenge Blog, don't forget to "FOLLOW" the new "Altered Alice" blog where next week's challenge AND the winner of the last Nikki giveaway will be drawn!

I am not good at Goodbyes and I know I will not be far away from The Altered Alice, so I wanted to make a card to honor our Mad Hatter, Jess. I used a stamp set that she gave me from Unity Stamp Company called "Love in Return". There are several stamps in this set that speak to today's happenings...."The End", "Because of You", "The Story", "ps I love you"....
I chose to use the sentiment from the stamp set that reminded me most of the Oh,Alice Blog. Several times over the last year, I had my breath taken away  by the themes, the followers, the challenge submissions, but most of all the wonderful people I worked with and how they influenced my cardmaking. I am forever grateful!
I used several items from Nikki Sivils including the DP, tag and button. The baker's twine is from Martha Stewart. For the layout I used this weeks Card Patterns Sketch #98.

    Enjoy!

    Thoughtfullness

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a great week!

I have been busy getting my craft room in order, doing a little purging and perusing some new blogs I found. If you ever want ideas that run from papercrafts to quilting to kids crafts and everything in between, you have got to check out Craft Gossip. I have seen some pretty unique things on their blog!! Check out this Valentine Game Tote or how about some Chocolate Covered Fig Newtons on a Stick? Just be careful if you subscribe in Reader. You will have 25-30 posts a day to scroll through!

Today I have a card for you. I participated in Sunday's Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge~ I know who she is......Tracy has such an awesome array of cards in her gallery! I had a lot of fun going through and picking out one to CASE. I finally chose her Flowers and Dots Card.  I kept the same layout and changed the colors, stamps and added a felt flower and pearls. This is also for this weeks challenge at Crazy4Challenges to make a thank you card.

    Stamps: PTI Signature Greetings
Paper: MFT Bubblegum, SEI Chocolat, White
    Ink: Brown Memento
Accessories: MS Border Punch, MFT Die-namics Rolled Rose, Pearls, Ribbon, White Felt

    Chapter 46: Queen Alice

    "Hush-a-by lady, in Alice's lap!
Till the feast's ready, we've time for a nap.
When the feast's over, we'll go to the ball -
Red Queen, and White Queen, and Alice, and all!"

~ "Queen Alice", Through The Looking-Glass
We here at Oh Alice, hereby cordially invite you to meet Iracebeth the Red Queen of Crims and Mirana the White Queen. Iracebeth and Mirana are sisters who couldn't be more different: while the White Queen is kind and gentle and is loved by everyone, the Red Queen's answer to everything is "Off with their heads!"

To honor our Royal Highnesses, we challenge you to choose which Royal Court you would want to have rule over you, the Red Queen's or the White Queen's???
So the challenge this week, if you should choose to accept it, is to create a card/project that is either mostly white or mostly red.

This week's Oh, Alice challenge is being sponsored by Baby Bud Designs!
"The Baby Bud illustrations you see in the shop have been drawn ‘free hand’ by the artist and owner, Mary Anne Wainright. There is never any computer re-imaging involved. Their quirky little imperfections are what make them original, unique and whimsical and reminds the viewer that they were created from the heart."
Baby Bud Designs has not only generously let the DT use her images, but is also offering the winner a choice of TWO digital images from their Baby Bud Designs Etsy Shop!

Check out all the DTs choices on the Oh, Alice Blog!

You have until Friday, January 21st, 8pm CST to submit your creations. We look forward to seeing which Queen will win!

    CHAPTER 45: Remembering Holiday Dreams

`Oh, I've had such a curious dream!' said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures of hers that you have just been reading about; and when she had finished, her sister kissed her, and said, `It WAS a curious dream, dear, certainly: but now run in to your tea; it's getting late.' So Alice got up and ran off, thinking while she ran, as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been.
-- Chapter 12, Alice in Wonderland
I hope you have some wonderful holiday dreams to remember! We are still locked in winter in the northern hemisphere, and that makes me think of an icy blue color scheme - after all, there is even a color called "Alice blue" since she is traditionally illustrated with a blue dress! It is also time to start scrappng those Christmas and New Year memories!

Our generous sponsor, Nikki Sivils, is offering a huge prize to help you capture those memories! One randomly drawn winner will receive a 6x6 inch pad, 12x12 inch designer paper, and  burlap covered  buttons from the Happy Holly-Days Collection!

So the challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is to share something that helps you capture your holiday memories, like a layout, mini-album or picture holder of some kind, OR to use an icy blue color scheme!

The design team this week will be showing off some fabulous paper from our generous sponsor, Nikki Sivils. They will be using the wonderful  "Something for Everyone" collection in beautiful Alice blue or the Happy Holly-Days collection. Take a look over on the Oh,Alice Blog!

I decided to do something a little different today. How about a scrapbook page?! I just couldn't resist making a page of my first Great Nephew. Isn't he a cutie? He is just getting old enough now to smile and coo. I just love it!! The papers are all from Nikki Sivils Happy Holly-Days line as well as the burlap buttons. Just perfect for masculine cards or scrapbooking!

You have until Friday, January 14th, 8 p.m. CST to submit your creations using the link tool below. Remember you can either share a holiday memory or use an icy blue color scheme, so show us your stuff and one luck winner will walk away with the prize pack from Nikki Sivils!

A Word of Thanks from Oh, Alice!

    Hey EVERYONE! Happy New Year!

We hope that you are enjoying a little hiatus from the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year's and cannot WAIT to resume our challenge on January 8th! 2011 is going to be bringing you some EXCITING new themes, challenges, guest Designers, and TONS of new sponsorships thanks to our awesome coordinators, Margie and Tasha!

On that note, we are just stopping by today with a note of THANKS for all of our valued players and sponsors!!

For my card today, I used a new Hero Arts Stamp Set, My Type. I just love that typewriter! The patterned paper and cardstock stickers are all from Nikki Sivils Something for Everyone line. Cute, cute paper! The layout is this weeks MoJo Monday Challenge #171 sketch. I am also entering this in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge #145 to make a thank you card.

All of our projects today are done using NIKKI SIVILS papers and embellishments...and not only are we SO grateful for that, we are THRILLED to announce that NIKKI SIVILS will be our first sponsor of 2011 and we have a HUGE surprise for you all NEXT WEEK, over at Oh, ALICE!
