Snowflake Christmas

What a wonderful Holiday week it has been! Bill and I traveled to Tennessee to spend time with family and friends, and got a White Christmas as well. Have not seen one of those in several years! Now.... I am not a lover of snow in Tennessee because it seems to paralyze everything. The hills and valleys make for a treacherous trek sometimes. Tomorrow we head home to Florida and I still have family time planned for today. So....Snow...Be Gone!!

In keeping with the snow theme, my card today is one I completed for a VSN challenge last month. Isn't  Snowflake Flopsey just adorable? The image is colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders Circle die. I added a little icicle glitter underneath Flopsey and iridescent circle stickers to the snowflakes. A great card to send to someone special during the winter months!

Stay warm if it is chilly where you are. Hope you are enjoying the holiday with family and friends.
See you back here later this week!
Enjoy!

CHAPTER 44: `Curiouser and curiouser!'

`Curiouser and curiouser!' cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English); `now I'm opening out like the largest telescope that ever was! Good-bye, feet!' (for when she looked down at her feet, they seemed to be almost out of sight, they were getting so far off). `Oh, my poor little feet, I wonder who will put on your shoes and stockings for you now, dears? I'm sure _I_ shan't be able! I shall be a great deal too far off to trouble myself about you: you must manage the best way you can; --but I must be kind to them,' thought Alice, `or perhaps they won't walk the way I want to go! Let me see: I'll give them a new pair of boots every Christmas.'

Hello from all of us here in Wonderland! This week we are Curiouser and curiouser to see if you are willing to play along with our weekly challenge. The challenge is a simple one, and one that most of us should be able to play along with, we would like to take Wonderland and turn it into a Winter Wonderland! Yes, that's right.....put your boots on, hats, mittens and lets play in the snow! Alice with a hat on? Rabbit in the snow? Anything that reflects a Winter Wonderland. Have fun with it!

This week we are being sponsored by SUGAR NELLIE! The winner's prize will be an awesome set of 6 Leanne Ellis Alice In Wonderland stamps!! Woohoo!!

For my card today I decided to use MFT's Ice Skating Flopsey and do a little winter scene using Nikki Sivils Happy Holly-Days paper. Flopsey's little skating rink reminds me of the time that my Dad froze over the lawn when we lived in the Adirondack Mountains. We had our own personal skating rink for the winter!  Flopsey is colored with Copics. I cut out the trees and sentiment from the paper. The skate blades are colored with a Silver atYou Spica pen. Gives them a little glitz along with the ice that has touches of Baby Blue Stickles. I even got out the sewing machine for this card!  Had to try out some new Gutermann thread that was a birthday present. Thanks Mom!!

As usual, you'll have until midnight Christmas eve (Friday, December 24th) to show us your work. Just link a picture of it to the Oh Alice! Challenge Blog. Take some creative time for yourself this week during all the hustle and bustle. Best wishes!!

NOTE ~ We will be taking a short time away to play in our Wonderlands through the holidays. We will resume in the new year with more challenges and fun giveaways!

Check out all the wintry creations by the design team on the Oh,Alice Blog.

Enjoy!

Non Traditional Santa

Happy COLD Wednesday to you!! WOW, is it ever winter here in Northwest Florida! I feel like I am back in Tennessee! Hope you all are safe and keeping toasty warm.

The stamp set is Flourishes Santa, I Believe. I just love the Santa in this set!

Stamps: Flourishes Santa I Believe

CHAPTER 43:CHRISTMAS-GREETINGS

LADY dear, if Fairies may
For a moment lay aside
Cunning tricks and elfish play,
'Tis at happy Christmas-tide.

We have heard the children say—
Gentle children. whom we love—
Long ago, on Christmas Day,
Came a message from above.

Still, as Christmas-tide comes round,
They remember it again—
Echo still the joyful sound
"Peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Yet the hearts must childlike be
Where such heavenly guests abide;
Unto children, in their glee,
All the year is Christmas-tide!

Thus, forgetting tricks and play
For a moment, Lady dear,
We would wish you, if we may,
Merry Christmas, glad New Year!

Christmas, 1867.

Welcome down the rabbit hole once again my friends.  This poem by Lewis Carroll was found in the back of a copy of Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. In researching the history of this poem I found the All Saints, the Lewis Carroll Memorial Window at Daniell Chapel in England.  The 3 centre panels contain verses from the Lewis Carroll’s poem.  The window was designed by the stained glass artist Geoffrey Webb and depicts a Nativity scene, at which both Carroll and Alice are present.  This is a must see for anyone that loves Wonderland.

For our challenge this week let's get into the Christmas spirit. The challenge is to use red, green, + one color.  You can still use other colors for hair and skin.  Just make the main use of color red, green, + one.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Pixie Dust Studio.  The lucky winner will receive your choice of 2 digital images!

For my card today I used the PDS digi Surprise Visitor. This Santa and his critters are just super cute! The image is colored with Copics and I added glitter to the coat and hat and a button for his coat. I also used a Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen to add pearls to the bag. I received several pearl pens from my sister for my birthday. Thanks Chrissie!! The paper is from my last years favorite...Paper Salon Holiday. The sentiment is computer generated.
Copics Used:

So get your Santa hat on, turn on your favorite holiday music and get crafty for your chance to win your choice of 2 digital images!  You have until Friday the 17th of Dec to play long with us!

Check out what our DT have created for you this week over on the Oh, Alice Blog!

Rejoice!

Hi Everyone! Here we are...another Wednesday! And getting closer to Christmas by the minute!

Flourishes has a Winter White Challenge going in preparation for their new releases that are coming out soon. The challenge~wash our cards and creations with white! Show off a little pop of color, but make sure the overall feeling is white!

I recently purchased their Rejoice stamp and knew it was coming out to play! I stamped the image on Flourishes white cardstock with Encore Metallic Gold and tried embossing it with some gold detailed embossing powder. I tried several times and was not happy with the results. Embossing powder and I have a long standing love~hate relationship. lol! Tossed those....

I then decided to stamp the image again and this time I pulled out the Gold atYou Spica pen and I went over every single line on the image. Every single spec, I tell ya....very carefully.....holding my breath.....making sure my hand didn't shake. It turned out perfect! Here is a close up of the pen-work. You can click on the picture to get a closer look. The holly and berries are colored with touches of Copic G24 and R24.

Here is my card with a pop of color! The stamped image is cut out with a Spellbinders Labels 14 die and popped up on a panel embossed with a CB folder. The punched border is done with a MS border punch. A little ribbon and gold pearls finish the card.

Enjoy!

Victoria's Snowlady

Happy Monday!

Are you ready for the Christmas Holiday? Have your shopping and baking done? Me? Nopeeeeee!!
Remember I told you about having laryngitis? That turned into sinusitis and I was down for the count! Four days!! It is Sunday and I still have this yucky cough. Anyone with some natural remedy suggestions...send them my way!

I did work on a card today, for no particular reason. Other than I fell in love with this image when I laid eyes on it. It is a Victoria Case Art Designs digi image called "Snowman Heart". Is this not the cutest snowman you have ever laid eyes on? I love Victoria's whimsical style!

I have used about all of my Bo Bunny Winter Joy paper, which I used for this card. The image is colored with Copics. I added glitter to the hat, scarf and heart. The sentiment is from the MFT Flopsey Snowflake stamp set and put on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag that I colored the inside with a Copic BG0000.
Copics Used: BG0000, BG10, BG13, BG18, BG72, V12, V15, V17, YR00, YR02, E25

Speaking of "One of a Kind"...this girl traveled to Knoxville last Sunday to visit and spend time with me on my Birthday.

Talk about a super special treat and a Super SPECIAL Friend!! Thanks Jess! <3 <3 <3

Have a great week everyone!

CHAPTER 42: The Flowers are Talking!

'O Tiger-lily,' said Alice, addressing herself to one that was waving gracefully about in the wind, 'I wish you could talk!'
'We can talk,'said the Tiger-lily: 'when there's anybody worth talking to.'
Alice was so astonished that she could not speak for a minute: it quite seemed to take her breath away. At length, as the Tiger-lily only went on waving about, she spoke again, in a timid voice--almost a whisper. "And can all the flowers talk?"
"As well as all can," said the Tiger-lily. 'And a great deal louder.'

Hello from all of us in Wonderland! This week we would like you to have a go at making your own flowers! So get fun creating, we can't wait to see what you come up with!

This week we are being sponsered by 'Some Odd Girl' who have gorgeous Digi Stamps that the DT have been luckily enough to create with this week. So get creating your own flowers for your chance to win some of your very own ' Some Odd Girl' Images!

For my card today I decided to go with a wintry theme. After all it is winter, right? My 'Alice in Winterland' is the Some Odd Girl Digi stamp, "Cute Mae as Alice". She is colored with Copics and cut out. I placed her on a double panel cut from the Spellbinders "blossom" die. I have been wanting to make some of the fan folded "flowers" that I have been seeing in blogland. So I added a frosty flower! The DP is from Heidi Grace Designs Frost Boulevard Line.

You have until Friday the 10th of Dec to play long with us!  Add your card on the Oh,Alice Blog.
Enjoy!

Follow Your Heart

Happy Wednesday and the First Day of December!

I am back from a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and a Birthday celebration a couple days later with family and friends. I picked up a bug somewhere in my travels and have laryngitis. Funny how you don't realize how much you need your voice!

My card today is one that I did for a SCS Featured Stamper Challenge back in October. The challenge~ I Go Nuts and Howl...
The featured stamper was IMAMUTTNUT, aka Laurie. She has so much inspiration in her gallery. It took me quite a while to land on just one card to CASE. I finally chose her card  Beautiful Butterfly Anniversary.

I changed the colors, stamp set and layout. The layout is from the Clean and Simple Challenge #112.To honor Laurie, I also used all Stampin Up products for my card.

Stamps: SU Whimsical Words
Paper: Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, SU Patterns Pack
Ink: Black
Accessories: Bigz Beautiful Butterflies, Button, Floss, Very Vanilla Ribbon

Enjoy!
