CHAPTER 41: Off With Their Heads!

`Let's go on with the game,' the Queen said to Alice; and Alice was too much frightened to say a word, but slowly followed her back to the croquet-ground.

The other guests had taken advantage of the Queen's absence, and were resting in the shade: however, the moment they saw her, they hurried back to the game, the Queen merely remarking that a moment's delay would cost them their lives.

All the time they were playing the Queen never left off quarrelling with the other players, and shouting `Off with his head!' or `Off with her head!' Those whom she sentenced were taken into custody by the soldiers, who of course had to leave off being arches to do this, so that by the end of half an hour or so there were no arches left, and all the players, except the King, the Queen, and Alice, were in custody and under sentence of execution.

Welcome back to the land of wonder and where the saying, 'Off with her head' is a regular statement! Well here in wonderland this week, that is exactly what we want you to do. This week we want you to take your stamps and yep you guessed it,'Off with their heads'. So we are asking you to alter your stamps and mix it up a little by giving them a new head or body. Ohhh this is going to be sooo much fun seeing what you come up with!!!

I don't have a card for you today as I traveled to Tennessee to spend a long Thanksgiving weekend with family. But, I did want you to know about the PRIZE this week!

Up for grabs this week is a Scor Buddy from the lovely people at http://www.scrappingreatdeals.com. So off with their heads for your chance to win this awesome prize. You have until the 3rd of Dec to play along with us.

CAS Merry and Bright

Good Monday Morning! Hope your weekend was grand! The weather here has been in the mid to upper 70's. A little cool at night. No way does my mind admit that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner!

I am finishing up the last of my Christmas Card obligations for the year for the Christmas Card challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Five cards for November and I am done! Fifty five cards ready to be mailed out! If you love to send out cards and find yourself stressing at the last minute, this challenge is for you. I love being able to breathe easy in December!

I went clean and simple with my card today using a Digikit from Hero Arts. This one is the Merry and Bright Flourish Tag. My inspiration came from Lucy's Cards Blog. She is on the Hero Arts Design Team and I love visiting her blog.  I printed the image on white cardstock with blue ink and cut it out using the Lacey Circle die from Spellbinders. The layout is from this weeks Card Patterns Sketch Challenge #91.
.

And...this also is for Crazy4Challenges #64 to use circles on your card.
Enjoy!

CHAPTER 40: Hooka Are You?

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."
~Alice's Adventures in Wonderland,Chapter 5
Welcome to the mad world of Wonderland! Once again we are here to inspire you to create great things! The Caterpillar (Absalom) was the wisest creature in Wonderland. At least he thought so, and so did most of the others.
He is a fascinating character because of his wisdom, and his lack of understanding metamorphosis. Kind of a weird oxymoron, don't you think? Our challenge this week is to use either a caterpillar or a butterfly in your project. If you'd like to go one step farther, use a definition or dictionary paper in your design (any subject is fine).

If you are fortunate, you may find yourself wisely winning your choice of three 4x6 reprints from our sponsor, Maigan Lynn Beaudoin Shaw. FanTASTic!! Maigan is such a delightful artist, and the team appreciates the chance to work with one of her images!

For my card today I used one of Maigan's images and colored it with Copics. I used twenty-two for this image so I don't think I will be listing the colors for you today! Talk about a lot of detail!
The image is cut out with a Spellbinders frame die. The outer portion is cut from some glittery teal paper. The challenge called for butterflies, so I stamped the Apricot Appeal panel with butterflies in the same color ink. If you click on the photo you can see them better.

Check out what the design team has created to inspire you:

Remember, you have all week to play this challenge! Link your project to the Oh Alice! Challenge blog and HAVE FUN!  You have until Friday Nov. 26th at 11:59 CST to get inky and enter to win! Happy creating!!

Enjoy!

Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past Blog Hop

Hi Everyone! Happy Thursday!

I am so excited to be participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past Blog Hop  for November!!

This month's theme is Autumn/Thankful. I reached for my favorite TE stamp set "Discover Your Wings" to make my card. I decided to use the optional sketch created by Sankari Wegman  for the layout.

Since we are doing an Autumn theme, I chose the Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice , Chocolate Chip and Blush  Blossom papers. The image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. The sentiment is computer generated. There is definitely a lot going on with this sketch! So much fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by for the  Blast from the Past blog hop! Check out what the rest of  the hoppers have created!

Enjoy!

Chapter 39: Nothin' but Tea and Time...

"Alice felt dreadfully puzzled. The Hatter's remark seemed to have no sort of meaning in it, and yet it was certainly English. `I don't quite understand you,' she said, as politely as she could.

`The Dormouse is asleep again,' said the Hatter, and he poured a little hot tea upon its nose.

The Dormouse shook its head impatiently, and said, without opening its eyes, `Of course, of course; just what I was going to remark myself.'

`Have you guessed the riddle yet?' the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.

`No, I give it up,' Alice replied: `what's the answer?'

`I haven't the slightest idea,' said the Hatter.

`Nor I,' said the March Hare.

Alice sighed wearily. `I think you might do something better with the time,' she said, `than waste it in asking riddles that have no answers.'

`If you knew Time as well as I do,' said the Hatter, `you wouldn't talk about wasting IT. It's HIM.'

`I don't know what you mean,' said Alice.

`Of course you don't!' the Hatter said, tossing his head contemptuously. `I dare say you never even spoke to Time!'"

Greetings friends in Wonderland!

Today we have a fun challenge for you based on a lovely inspiration piece that the Mad Hatter herself just might "need" one of these days!

But first, a BIG warm WONDERLAND welcome to Tracy Evans, our November/December Guest! Tracy has wow'd us with her projects for a while and we are thrilled to have her here at our Twisted Table.

This week, we have an inspiration piece, again from one of Jess's favorite designers,Tarina Tarantino
It LOOKS like a watch, but in this case, the face of "Father Time" is the Mad Hatter himself. We can just see him, shouting out from this beautiful piece and startling it's owner "YOU HAVEN'T EVEN MET TIME!". Boy, it sure feels like that some days..time simply moves TOO QUICKLY to catch!

For my card today I used the colors in the inspiration piece and the frame around the focal image. The layout is from this weeks MoJo Monday Challenge #164.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Tea For Two
Ink: Black Memento and Blush Blossom
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious and White
Other: CB Swiss Dot EF, Spellbinders Lacey Circles, PTI Teapot Die, Pearl, Prima Mini Roses, Ribbon

Have a bedazzler of a time this week, creating after this piece! Until next week...

Enjoy!

CHAPTER 38: Tickets, Please!

`Tickets, please!' said the Guard, putting his head in at the window. In a moment everybody was holding out a ticket: they were about the same size as the people, and quite seemed to fill the carriage.
`Now then! Show your ticket, child!' the Guard went on, looking angrily at Alice. And a great many voices all said together (`like the chorus of a song,' thought Alice), `Don't keep him waiting, child! Why, his time is worth a thousand pounds a minute!
`I'm afraid I haven't got one,' Alice said in a frightened tone: `there wasn't a ticket-office where I came from." And again the chorus of voices went on. `There wasn't room for one where she came from. The land there is worth a thousand pounds an inch!'
-- Chapter 3, Through the Looking Glass
Greetings friends in Wonderland! We are FULL STEAM AHEAD into November and today's challenge is JUST the ticket! Our ride this week is sponsored by our own Tasha who is generously donating a $15 gift certificate to Stamping Bella (in honor of their cute new Alice stamp) which will be awarded to one randomly selected winning traveler!
But before we get started, there are some changes at our twisted tea party table!  We are bidding farewell to longtime design team members Jen and Suzi, so please leave them some extra love as you visit their last Oh, Alice! DT posts. We will really miss their superb talents! Donna, our amazing October guest designer, is stepping up to the table so we are back to our twisted thirteen. Welcome Donna, we are so glad you are staying where it's always time for tea! Be sure to check back next week for to find out who our guest designer will be for the holiday season!

So, do you have YOUR ticket ready for a ride on the Wonderland Express? Our twisted sis Lynne is the conductor this week and she says you can't travel with Oh, Alice! if you don't show us your ticket! You can make a ticket, use a ticket stamp, use a real ticket. Use one ticket or a whole row of tickets! So hop on it and get ready to take a journey through Wonderland!

For my card today I decided to use the "Clean and Simple #115" challenge layout. The stamp set is Papertry Ink's "Just the Ticket". Perfect for this challenge! I also have the ticket die and used the PTI flower dies as well. The larger flower is cork. The paper is from the Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice  collection.

Get ready to travel with these inspiring examples from the members of our Twisted Tea Party:

It's time for you to get those tickets ready so you can travel with us on the Wonderland Express! You don't want to be left behind as this train leaves the station, so enter your new creations by 8pm on Friday, Nov 12th using InLinkz on the Oh,Alice blog. Good Luck, or maybe we should say Bon Voyage, as we can't wait to see where your creations will take us!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch meets the Christmas Card Challenge

TGIF!!!

Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am!! I am flying up to Baltimore on Sunday for a little winter chill!! I know my system is in for a shocker!! Lol!

My card today is for the Splitcoaststampers Monthly Christmas Card Challenge. This is October's card....I am a little behind.....just a little! I used this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #98 for the layout. She cranks out fabulous sketches week after week!! Love them!

The little gingerbread boy is from the Papertrey Ink Holiday Button Bits set. The kraft panel is embossed with a CB snowflake folder and sponged with white ink. When I took the picture of the card I realized I did not use any DP!! Imagine that!!

Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow for the Oh, Alice challenge.

Enjoy!
