CHAPTER 28: Child of the Pure Unclouded Brow...

Taken from "Child of the Pure Unclouded Brow: preface to
 "Through the Looking Glass"

Child of the pure unclouded brow
And dreaming eyes of wonder!
Though time be fleet, and I and thou
Are half a life asunder,
Thy loving smile will surely hail
The love-gift of a fairy-tale.

I have not seen thy sunny face,
Nor heard thy silver laughter;
No thought of me shall find a place
In thy young life's hereafter -
Enough that now thou wilt not fail
To listen to my fairy-tale.

CHAPTER 27: Prizes for Dodo...

"This question the Dodo could not answer without a great deal of thought, and it sat for a long time with one finger pressed upon its forehead (the position in which you usually see Shakespeare, in the pictures of him), while the rest waited in silence. At last the Dodo said, `EVERYBODY has won, and all must have prizes.'

`But who is to give the prizes?' quite a chorus of voices asked.

`Why, SHE, of course,' said the Dodo, pointing to Alice with one finger; and the whole party at once crowded round her, calling out in a confused way, `Prizes! Prizes!'

Alice had no idea what to do, and in despair she put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a box of comfits, (luckily the salt water had not got into it), and handed them round as prizes. There was exactly one a-piece all round. `But she must have a prize herself, you know,' said the Mouse.

`Of course,' the Dodo replied very gravely. `What else have you got in your pocket?' he went on, turning to Alice..."

Hello all!

We are so excited about today's inspiration piece, which just so happens to feature Alice and the lovable Dodo she encounters along her adventures in Wonderland.  We'll even spare Dodo the croquet game today...less headache!  ;)

The Mad Hatter herself is VERY fond of Tarina Tarantino jewelry and is lucky enough to own a VERY fun ring that she scored while in Disneyworld last time.  Check out the fabulous Queen Alice ring HERE.

For today's challenge, we are all gaga over this beautiful piece:

Your mission today is to create SPARKLY FABULOUSNESS (yes, include some BLING, please!) as inspired by the above photo.

For my card today, I used the inspiration piece colors and added as much bling as I possibly could!

The image is from Lenny's Alice In Wonderland website. Lots of images and information about Alice!
I used a some sparkly paper I had picked up a few weeks ago for the background. Are you like me when you go to the store and something catches your eye and you say, "I need to get that....I will probably have an occasion to use it". (haha!) The image is cut out using a Spellbinders Oval. I mimic'd the oval in the inspiration piece, colors and all!

Head on over to the Oh, Alice Blog and join in the fun. While you are there check out all the blingtastic creations by the Design Team!

Enjoy!

Let's Go To The Drive In

Happy Thursday!!

Can you believe it? It's not Saturday and I am here!! Last month on Splitcoaststampers there was a challenge frenzy going on with the Dare To Get Dirty yearly get together and the Virtual Stamp Night Mini Challenges. I was able to get quite a few cards done and have some fun too!

This card was for the challenge I hosted  in the SCS Mini VSN~ Drive-In Movies
The challenge~ incorporate any element of going to a Drive-In Movie into your card or project.
Summertime was always a time that we went to the Drive-In. Five of us kids, piled in a station wagon. Lots of fun!

I couldn't resist using the PTI VW cars to make an invitation for a "date night" with that someone special!
This also met Suzanne Deans Dare To Get Dirty Challenge, "At The Movies".

Stamps: PTI Enjoy the Ride
Paper: Black, Kraft, White
Ink: Barely Banana, New Leaf
Accessories: Copics C1, C3, Wooden pole, buttons

Don't forget to hang up the speakers before you leave!

CHAPTER 26: Sizin' up a Sketch...

"The Caterpillar was the first to speak.

`What size do you want to be?' it asked.

`Oh, I'm not particular as to size,' Alice hastily replied; `only one doesn't like changing so often, you know.'

`I DON'T know,' said the Caterpillar.

Alice said nothing: she had never been so much contradicted in her life before, and she felt that she was losing her temper.

`Are you content now?' said the Caterpillar.

`Well, I should like to be a LITTLE larger, sir, if you wouldn't mind,' said Alice: `three inches is such a wretched height to be.'

`It is a very good height indeed!' said the Caterpillar angrily, rearing itself upright as it spoke (it was exactly three inches high).

`But I'm not used to it!' pleaded poor Alice in a piteous tone. And she thought of herself, `I wish the creatures wouldn't be so easily offended!'

`You'll get used to it in time,' said the Caterpillar; and it put the hookah into its mouth and began smoking again..."

Hello!  How is everyone here in Wonderland today?
We are sizing up a GREAT sketch by JEN and the main panel just HAPPENS to be THREE INCHES. TALL.  :)  Now, of course you don't have to stick to this if your image won't fit, but we didn't want to anger Mr. Caterpillar by saying that Three inches wasn't a respectable height, so here's the sketch:

For my card today I used the Unity Stamp set Faith Blooms. I just love the sentiment in this set! The DP is from the DCWV Mariposa Stack and the ink is Dusty Durango and Bermuda Bay. The colors go wonderfully with the paper. I changed up the sketch just a little, letting the background panel images show on the right and added some rhinestone swirls on top.

Check out all the other design team member's creations over on the Oh, Alice Blog. Hope you will join in the challenge this week!

Enjoy!

Chapter 25:White Rabbit, white Gloves, white wonderland

"After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves in one hand and a large fan in the other: he came trotting along in a great hurry, muttering to himself as he came, `Oh! the Duchess, the Duchess! Oh! won't she be savage if I've kept her waiting!'
Alice felt so desperate that she was ready to ask help of any one; so, when the Rabbit came near her, she began, in a low, timid voice, `If you please, sir--' The Rabbit started violently, dropped the white kid gloves and the fan, and skurried away into the darkness as hard as he could go..."

Hello dolls!
We are back in the WHITE heat of August with another fabulous challenge for you today! This week at Oh, Alice we are trying to BEAT that heat, and you know, they say you shouldn't wear dark colors this time of year to keep cool!
In the spirit of that, along with our WHITE Rabbit and his WHITE kid gloves, guess what our challenge is for you today?
That's RIGHT. WHITE WONDERLAND. And we're not talkin' about Christmas! Your mission today, should you choose to accept it is to create (WITH the exception of your main image panel) an ALL WHITE card or project!

We are THRILLED to announce a standing sponsorship today with Tickled Pink Stamps! In addition, it just so happens that we are announcing KELLIE WINNELL as our AUGUST Guest Designer for Oh, Alice! Kellie's talent and amazing creations with her shabby chic style caught our eye and we just had to ask her to be our guest at this mad little tea party.
What's more? Kellie is the OWNER of Tickled Pink stamps and is offering 1 RUBBER LOLITA of choice to one lucky winner this week!

For my card this week I used Tickled Pink "Evie" and in keeping with the WHITE theme, decided to do a black and white image. Evie is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I want to thank Jen for the inspiration from her card last Saturday. She is the GODDESS of coloring! The image is cut out with a Spellbinders die and before taking it out of the die I sponged the edges with some grey ink. The different panels are embossed with Cuttlebug folders to give some dimension and what would a card be without a bow and pearls?

Well, it's time to STOP treating these challenges with kid gloves and get crackin! You have until Friday, August 13th (our FAVORITE number!) at 8pm CST to enter your creation on the Oh,Alice Blog...Good luck!

Happy 52nd Birthday!

Hi Everyone and Happy Over the Hump Wednesday!

I decided to work on a card for my sister's birthday at the end of the month. Can you guess how old she is going to be??  :-)  Sometimes she looks at my blog, so if you are seeing this, Hi Chrissie!!

I will be traveling to Knoxville this Friday, so if she wants to smack me over the head, she can. What are "little" sisters for anyway?? Love ya!!

For my card, I used yesterday's  Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #85 for the layout. Love Mercy's sketches and she is such a sweet person online. Maybe someday I will get to meet her in person! The stamp set is Who's That Birthday Girl by My Favorite Things. The image is colored with Copics, except for the skirt which is paper pieced. The DP is Cosmo Cricket DeLovely. This card is also for this months MFT Guest Designer contest Floral Flair.

Copics Used: E50, RV0000, RV02, RV06, BG13, Y15

See you back here on Saturday for the Oh, Alice Challenge.
Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary TGF!!

Happy Sunday Evening!! Hope you have had a wonderful weekend!

We are kicking off the celebration of The Greeting Farm's Second Anniversary tonight. WOW, has this company worked it's way into the hearts of many of us with their fabulous stamps and digis! Do you remember the first Greeting Farm stamp you laid your hands on? I do!  It was Pretty Hat Anya and I loved being able to dress her according to the different hats in the stamp set. Of course she had a dog or cat to accompany her as she was styling her hats!! I still have her in my collection!

To celebrate today, I chose to use Hope from the Hope and Grace stamp set. She is another of my favorites (really they are all my favorites, LOL!). I usually choose the paper I want to use and then decide on a color scheme for the stamp images. For this special celebration I knew that I wanted to use some new paper I bought last week. It is Mariposa by DCWV and the whole stack is just mouth watering gorgeous! So, Hope is colored with Copics in browns and pinks.  I used this weeks sketch from Club Anya and Friends for the layout.

A few Prima Brown Swirls and Roses finishes the card.

The best thing about tonight is that starting right now there is a Chat on PCP and a BLOG HOP with about 87 participants. You can hop along with all of us starting at the Greeting Farm Blog. Your eyes are in for a feast with all of the amazing creations!  I hope you will join in the celebration!

Copics Used: E02, E21, E25, E31, E50, R0000, R00, R20

Enjoy!
