Tuesday Trigger on Sunday

Happy Sunday!
Hope you all are enjoying the Memorial Day Weekend and remembering all those that have served or are serving our country.
My card today is for two challenges.
1. The SCS All May Flowers VSN Challenge~Something New. The challenge~ DO something NEW!!!!!! Whether it is a new technique, a new color combo, a new stamp set that you'd forgotten you got for Christmas, or anything else that's new for you. As a 'dessert' option: add a bit of green to your card!! I used a "new to me" stamp set that had not had ink on it yet. It was tucked away in a box with other stamps and is several months old. I had forgotten I had it and had never used it! I also added some green!
2. The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger in Card Creations Week. Betsy Veldman has a wonderful inspiration piece as well as the original by Jessica Witty in the Card Creations Magazine. I was inspired by the symmetry of the elements on the card and the use of embellishments. I decided to take the inspiration and create a more subdued color card, maybe even a little on the masculine side with the colors I chose.
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Vintage Labels and Delightful Dahlia
Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Brown Memento, Kiwi Kiss and Bashful Blue
Accessories: K&Co Roam Fabric Covered Brads, Ribbon

CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING...doors are opening...all in our little WONDERLAND...

"It's no use talking about it," Alice said, looking up at the house and pretending it was arguing with her. `I'm not going in again yet. I know I should have to get through the Looking-glass again -- back into the old room -- and there'd be an end of all my adventures!'
So, resolutely turning back upon the house, she set out once more down the path, determined to keep straight on till she got to the hill. For a few minutes all went on well, and she was just saying, `I really shall do it this time -- ' when the path gave a sudden twist and shook itself (as she described it afterwards), and the next moment she found herself actually walking in at the door..."

Sending Smiles

Happy Tuesday!
I was so happy to see my fellow design team member Nikki get the honors of the Featured Stamper on SCS this past Sunday! I love Nikki and her fabulous gallery! I met Nikki at Faith's stamping retreat last October. She is a fun and crazy gal!
I chose her Sunny Day Stair Step Card to CASE. I had a wonderful package of goodies from Papertrey Ink waiting on me when I got home from work Thursday. In the package was the new set "Up, Up and Away". So I used Nikki's hot air balloon theme but also took the opportunity to make my first ever stair step card. Totally fun! Thanks Nikki for the inspiration!
Here is a side view picture showing the different folds. The template for this card can be found HERE. I hope you will give it a try! They really are fun!

A Quiet Cup

Hi Everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. The weather has been spectacular!! We are watching the oil slick very closely here. Hurricane season is just around the corner and it would have a huge impact on the oil if we have storms heading this way!
On a lighter note... One of the things that we enjoy at our house is a nice cup of hot tea. My Mom and Dad came from Tennessee last week for a visit, and we enjoyed spending time together and chatting over many cups of tea.
I made my card yesterday for the SCS Inspiration Challenge~ Amy Atlas Events. What an awesome website! The food and the presentations are fabulous! I chose picture 47 for my inspiration. The layout for my card is this week's MoJo Monday Sketch #139.
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers Lady Serene
Paper: Basic Grey Sugar Rush
Ink: Black
Accessories: Copics Y00, Y11, B21, Prima Flower, Ribbon, Liquid Pearls
Enjoy!

CHAPTER 14: Gettin' Sketchy in the Golden Afternoon...

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,
and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories,
in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,
strings of violets are all in tune,
Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,
in the golden afternoon,
the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,
where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "
Hey everyone!
We have a wonderful Sketch for you today designed by our own Jen Shults! Here's her awesome design:
Our sketch comes w/ just a small twist this week....
Ok, its HUGE!
ONE PLAYER will be chosen this week based on all of the entries (and we know it's going to be TOUGH!!!) to be our JUNE GUEST TEA PARTY MEMBER for Oh, Alice! That's right! The DT will be feverishly going through your creations to choose next month's Guest DT, so if you've been wanting to come and be our Guest at our totally TWISTED Tea Party, now is your chance!
For my card today I used Birgitta from CC Designs. She is colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders Petite Oval die. I sponged around the edges of the image while it was still in the die. The DP is from My Minds Eye Home Glitter Pack. The aqua panel is embossed with the CB Swiss dots folder. I added a button and some petite Prima roses for the finishing touches.
Need some inspiration to get ya going? Check out the samples from our TOTALLY TWISTED Tea Party:
We will leave this contest open until THURSDAY May 26th at 11:59 PM CST (please notice the earlier time limit this week just so we can have time to go over entries, contact the winner, and announce them by our next Challenge on the 28th!) to enter your creation. A preliminary note to all-since we know this is going to be a VERY hard decision, please do not be discouraged if your creation isn't chosen as we have plenty of opportunities coming up each month and have tons of fun up our sleeves! We are so thrilled that the blog is going strong and cant wait to see what's next for Oh, Alice!
Please don't forget to Upload your creation on the Oh, Alice Blog and use keyword OAC14 if you use a public gallery, thanks!
GOOD LUCK everyone!
