SCS Featured Stamper Challenge

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday!
Hope your weekend was Wonderful! We had a gloomy day Saturday, but Sunday was Gorgeous!
Did a little work in the yard on the sprinklers and washed all the windows. I found a hanging basket full of pretty zinnias and a small tropical hibiscus tree for my back porch. After the yard work we headed to the bowling center so I could do a little practice before I head to the Women's Nationals in El Paso. I haven't ever been to El Paso, so if you know anything about the city, let me know. We will have a little free time while we are there.
My card today is for this week's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge~"Gloria...You're always on the run now...."
Gloria's gallery is fantastic!! I chose This Card to CASE. I changed the colors, stamp set and layout. Thought I would join in the "Kraft Kraze" and use some Kraft Paper. The layout is this weeks Card Patterns #61 challenge and also meets this weeks Papertrey Peeps Challenge #6 to "Bling On The Old". I fudged a little as I am using a button as bling...but I am using an older set that I haven't played with in a long time!
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Everyday Button Bits
Paper: PTI Kraft, Hawaiin Shores and Green Boutique, White
Ink: Black, Hawaiin Shores
Accessories: MS Border Punch, Spellbinders Circles, Button
Enjoy!

Chapter 10: Queen of Tarts...

"On this the White Rabbit blew three blasts on the trumpet,
and then unrolled the parchment scroll,
and read as follows:
"The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day:
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,
And took them quite away!"
Uh ohhhhhhh...someone has stolen the Queen's Tarts! That's a no-no! We need to restore the sweetness back to Wonderland, don't you agree? That means it's time for a sweet treat here... or maybe a mushroom or two? I think I saw one floating around here that said "Eat Me" ;)
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to incorporate FOOD into this week's project! Everyone loves a little treat, right?
We have ANOTHER TREAT for you today... and it's a rather LARGE and generous portion!
We are thrilled to welcome...
as our sponsor this week!
The fabulous prize? A whopping $25 Gift Certificate to the Clear and Simple Stamps Store! We are so excited and grateful and can't wait to see what delectable delights YOU come up with... and also to see who the random winner will be!
For my card today I used Cupcake Kiki from All That Scraps. I think these stamps are the sweetest things! She is colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders Oval. I see I forgot to put some shading behind her...oh well! The paper is from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings.
We can't wait to see what delectable delights YOU come up with! Link them on the Oh, Alice Blog. Please use keyword OAC10when uploading to a public gallery...thanks!

Finding Friends On My Journey

Good Morning!
Today is a thoughtful day and a thankful day!
Thoughtful~Those that know me, know that I look at life as one big learning experience. I am a firm believer that we are here to experience life and learn from it's many lessons. While I am on this earth I want to soak up knowledge, find new things to try, meet new people, share experiences, hopes, dreams....
Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people through my love of scrapbooking and stamping. I take opportunities to go to shows/conventions, retreats and classes. Now with blogging and the stamp forums available to us, there is a never ending opportunity to meet new people online and for some, meeting in person becomes a reality. Everywhere I travel, I am always checking to see who may live in that city I could meet up with, or I am checking out stamp stores to stop in. So this brings me to...
Thankful~ I cherish the opportunity to meet stamping friends in person. Chatting over a cup of coffee at Starbucks in Knoxville Tennessee, or a Ghiradelli Cafe Mocha at Downtown Disney, or Quiche and coffee in a cabin at Stephen Foster State Park.... These are the best of times!
But....what really makes my heart sing is receiving a beautiful card in the mail from a SCS friend that I have not met in person yet, just to say "Happy Spring"! Thank you so much Marilyn (mlj-mlj on SCS)! Here is the card she sent me. Isn't it lovely?!
So I spent some time thinking about who I could send a card to "just because". Why don't you give it a try too!!
Hugs to all of you that stuck with me to the end of this post! Have a wonderful day!

Red Owl

HiYa!!
Whew....glad it is Tuesday! Got that Monday out of the way!!
I made this card for this week's SCS Inspiration Challenge~Crate Label Museum. It was a lot of fun to go through and look at all the vintage labels on this website. I found some really amusing ones like "Hurdy Gurdy" (remember the song?) and "Instant Sex" (no.... it had to do with Corn Feed!). I finally chose Red Owl for my inspiration.
My little "Twink" owl stamp came out of my "new" basket to get inked up. (Wow, I am on a roll here. Pretty soon I can allow myself to buy some new stuff!) I had bought him at my favorite scrapbook store in Knoxville, TN, when I visited in Feb. Hello Scrapbooks and More!! (waving!)
The layout is this weeks Taylored Expressions Sketch #109.
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms Twink (by Kim Hughes)
Paper: KI Memories Flourish Pad, White, Strathmore Bristol
Ink: Black Memento
Accessories: Copics R22, R24, R29, E33, E21, E57, Spellbinders Circles, White Gel Pen, Ribbon
Enjoy!

You've Got Mail!

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!
I am slowly working through all the things in my "new" basket. This little MFT Pure Innocence Girl was next on my list!
My card is for this week's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge~"I triple dog dare you..." Love Dara's gallery! I chose THIS card for my inspiration. The mail/mailbox theme ended up being the only similarity to my "case", as my card took on a life of it's own as I was making it!
The layout is from this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #69.
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Happy Mail
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety, White
Ink: Black Memento
Accessories: White Gellyroll pen, Copics E50, YR00 (Skin), E31, E25 (Hair), B32 (Sky), YG23 (Grass), R08, Y15, Y17 (Mailbox and Bird), Button, DMC Floss, Spellbinders Labels 4

CHAPTER 9: Somewhere in the Sunny, Sketchy, Afternoon...

Alice in Wonderland, how do you get to Wonderland?
Over the hill or underland, or just behind the tree?
When clouds go rolling by, they roll away and leave the sky.
Where is the land beyond the eye, that people can not see, where can it be?
Where do stars go, where is the crescent moon?
They must be somewhere in the sunny afternoon.
Alice in Wonderland, where is the path to Wonderland?
Over the hill or here or there, I wonder where.
Hello! Hopefully it's a Sunny, Golden afternoon in your neck of this Wonderland! We have a Sketch Challenge for you today brought to you by our very own TASHA! Here's the sketch:
We hope you'll join us this week down the Rabbit Hole for this fun sketch. What's more? There is a VERY generous prize offering this week from The BEARY SCRAP! The Beary Scrap is a sweet one-stop shop for all of your papercrafting needs and are offering an AMAZING $20 Gift Voucher for one lucky winner this week!
For my card today I used The Greeting Farm Alice digi image. She is colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders Oval. The paper is Cosmo Cricket Early Bird and Garden Variety. I pulled out the sewing machine (thanks Jess for the push!) and zigzagged around the edges of the two panels. I love making the little button flowers with CB flower die and little heart buttons. The sentiment is from TGF and would not be appropriate without a little yellow butterfly and red bow. Copics~Dress (B00,B02,B05) Skin (E50,YR00,E51) Hair (Y11,Y21,E31) Heart (R46)
So let's get started! Finish that tea and get crafting! There's no time limit to use this FABULOUS sketch, but if you want to throw your MAD HAT into the ring for the $20 Gift Voucher, please link your entry on the Oh,Alice Blog by Friday, April 23rd at 8pm CST! The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 24th with our next Challenge!
