Spring Breeze

Hi Everyone!!
Last day of March and it will be going out like a lamb here! Do you have any April Fools jokes ready? Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite prank has been or one that has been played on you!
Our favorite is one we played on my daughter Vanessa. No matter how many times we played the prank, she always fell for it. We would nonchalantly walk by her and point to her shoulder and tell her she had a spider on her. The chain of events would start with the head jerking around, eyes with the deer in the headlight look, arms flailing, and.... screaming. Boy could she give an ear piercing scream!! Oh, the mean things we do to our children....Course they get us back eventually don't they?? :-)
On to my card for today...
I made this card for this weeks SCS Inspiration Challenge~Thymes. This website has so many pretty things to get inspired with! I chose this Bath Collection for my inspiration. The sentiment and flowing leafy branch are sneak peeks of an April New Release from Mark's Finest Papers called Spring Breeze.
Stamps: MFP Spring Breeze and Daffodil and Anise
Paper: MFP Gold Luxury and Naturals Collection Ivory
Ink: Gold Encore
Accessories: Gold EP, Pearls colored with Copic Y26

SCS Christmas Card Challenge~March

Hi There! Has your week gotten off to a good start? Mine is plugging right along, the sun is shining and it is "warm"! What more could a girl ask for?
My card today is for the SCS Monthly Christmas Card Challenge. Getting my five cards done just under the wire. Wouldn't know what to do if I got them done early in the month!! I went with some new Papertrey Ink cardstock colors I just received. I love the New Leaf and Hawaiian Shores together. For those of you that know me or saw my Christmas Tree post last year, you know I decorate in the non-traditional colors of Turquoise, Lime Green and Pink. This card definitely fits right in!
Have you seen the new magazine that is out by Papercrafts, called "Go To Sketches"? I picked one up on Saturday and it is chocked full of sketches and wonderful card samples. Maile Belles has a "Tis The Season Card" on page 10 that I used as a kick start for my card. This publication is well worth the money!
Stamps: PTI Tree Trimming Trio and Signature Christmas
Paper: PTI White, New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores
Ink: PTI New Leaf and Hawaiian Shores, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Hawaiian Shores buttons, DMC Floss, Pop Dots
Take care and have a great Tuesday!
Enjoy!

Easter In Bloom

Happy Monday!
What a beautiful weekend we had here in NW Florida!! Love, Love, Love the warmer weather and Sunshine!
Today I have a card for this weeks Our Craft Lounge DT Sketch Challenge (OCLDT06). I just love the flower in the Thankful Thoughts stamp set! The flower is colored with Copics (Y11, Y13, Y15, RV14, R22) and cut out. The leaves are stamped with Certainly Celery and cut out as well. The DP is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad. I bought two pads about a year ago and it is about gone. Can you tell I love this DP?? I added white pearls around the flower center to finish.
Have a great day!
Enjoy!

CHAPTER 6: The Red Queen's FINE PRINT...

"The Red Queen shook her head, "You may call it 'nonsense' if you like," she said, "but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"
This week we're getting down to business and reading the "fine print" here in Wonderland.
We're also SO excited to be welcoming Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week! WOW! What a lucky group we are! Wendy from Digital Delights has not only graced the DT with some super fun Alice-inspired images to use, but is giving away a TEN DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE to one lucky winner who will be randomly drawn from all the entries this week! THANKS Wendy!
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a card using some form of TEXT/Printed DP, Old Book pages, Newspaper print, Old dictionary, etc. We just need to see SOME form of printed text on your card or project!
I used Digital Delights Circular Clock Sentiment for my card today. I just love all the teacups just inside the numerals that are going backward!! So much fun!! The clock is colored with Copics (R27 and 100) and cut out using Spellbinders circles. The layout is from this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #66. The papers are Real Red, Black, background DP from the KI Memories Flourish Pad and a piece of "fine print" from the DCWV Mini Stack. I love the red, black and white color combo on this one!
Need some inspiration WRITTEN out for you? Check out all the cards from the Twisted Thirteen and our March Guest Designer, Erin!
There is no time limit to play, but to be entered into the drawing, entries must be received by 10pm Friday April 2nd. If you upload your creation to a public gallery this week, please use keyword OAC6.
Mr. Linky is waiting for you on the Oh,Alice blog! Have a WONDERFUL week in Wonderland, all!

Thankful Thoughts

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!
Over the weekend I decided to go through the stamps I have, that have never met ink, and pulled out the Our Craft Lounge set, Thankful Flourishes. Such pretty elements to this stamp set! I also took out the I-Top tool and made a couple of brads for the flower centers.
This weeks OCL Sketch Challenge (OCLDT05)layout was just perfect for making a card with this set. The flowers are colored with Copics (R24 and R27). The DP is Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety. I used PTI Summer Sunrise, SU Garden Green and Ruby Red for the solid card stock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
Check out the NEW Premium Paper Craft Packs at Mark's Finest Papers!!
You still have time to join in this weeks Oh,Alice! challenge!!
Have a great day!

Pink Eggs???

No, Not Pickled Beet Eggs this time!
I made this card for Saturday's SCS Inspiration Challenge~Cutest Food. What a fantastic web site! I don't think I have ever seen so many unique food items in my life!! Fun Fun Fun! You have to check it out!!
For my inspiration I picked these pink eggs for my inspiration. I pulled out my February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit and went to work! The layout is from this weeks Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.
I used my new Spellbinders Egg dies that I picked up in a little "appliance store" in Cocoa, Fl. It doesn't do anything for my budget when I travel because I am always looking for Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook stores to visit! Do you do that??
Taylored Expressions has these beautiful digital images that were made just for these dies. I went over the butterfly and vines with a Clear atYou Spica pen. Gives the image just enough sparkle with the pink sponged edges.
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Digi Eggs
Paper: Vibrant Pink, White, Making Memories DP
Ink: Black, Rose Red, Clear AtYou Spica
Accessories: Spellbinders Eggs, MS Punch, Ribbon, Flower, Button, Pearls
Enjoy!

Better Get Better!

Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was wonderful!
It was beautiful here on Saturday. I have some "signs of spring" pictures to share later. Yesterday though, Old Man Winter returned!! The wind was blowing about 30mph and it was cooooold!
My card today is a little get well card using MFT's Pure Innocence Better Get Better stamp. I colored her with Copics and cut her out using a Spellbinders oval. Leaving the oval in the die, I sponged the edges with a little Creamy Caramel. The paper is from the DCWV Linen Closet Stack. Beautiful soft papers. Love them! The layout for my card is this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #65.
Copics Used: E00 (Skin), BG0000, BG10, BG72 (Dress), E50, E51, E53, E25 (Hair), E31, E25 (Bear), C00, R20
Enjoy!

CHAPTER 5: WHOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRR YOUUUUUUUU?

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."
This week we are celebrating SPRING here in Wonderland! And, we have some WONDERFUL winged-things to show off courtesy of this week's sponsor, our very own Jen Shults! Jen's stamp company, Wild Flower Kids, has grown to be a favorite of mine and we are SO honored that she's agreed to sponsor the Oh, Alice! Blog by showcasing one of her new lines "All-A-Flutter"! Jen was gracious enough to provide the DT with some of these wonderfully cute and whimsical images as well...Check them out:
For my card today, I used one of Jen's Alice with Mushrooms images. Isn't she just adorable? I decided since this is St. Patrick's week, she needed to have a green dress instead of blue. You know that "Things are not always as they seem...." :)
The image is colored with Prismacolors/OMS. The DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Mini Deck that I picked up at the Scrappy Boutique in Orlando last week. Love that paper! I added ribbon and a button to finish the card. The layout is from this weeks Card Patterns Sketch Challenge #55.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to create a card using a CATERPILLAR or BUTTERFLY on your projects this week!
You have until Friday, March 26th to submit your entries by 8pm CST. Winner will be announced on Saturday 3/26 during our next challenge and the WINNER will receive the "All a Flutter" digital images from Jen!
This week's keyword is OAC5. That's about it! Just upload your card on the Oh,Aice! Blog Mr. Linky, and we'll stop by to see your amazing creations! HAPPY SPRING, everyone! See you next week!
Enjoy!

Generous Thoughts

Happy Thursday! This is the last card I made for the SCS Olympics Virtual Stamp Night. The Challenge~Sharpen Your Blades. Supplies Stamps: Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings Paper: White, Basic Grey Urban Praire Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Spellbinders Dahlia, Brad, ScorPal There is going to be another Virtual Stamp Night in late April and May. Chickie Hop

Happy Monday! Yeah, it is finally getting warmer! I made it back Saturday night from a trip to Central Florida. My sister and mom decided to go on a visit to Satellite Beach where we lived many years ago. What my sister didn't realize when she booked the trip, was that it was the beginning of Spring Break! She booked a room in Cocoa Beach right on the ocean, but we didn't even see the ocean for two days after arriving. It poured the rain on Thursday and Friday! I will have some pictures to post in the near future. I always had dreams of being an Olympic athlete when I was young. I swam on an AAU swim team and also on my high school swim team. I placed tenth in the entire state of Florida my junior year in the 100 freestyle. We moved the summer between my junior and senior year to Tennessee. Swim programs were not as robust as Florida and I settled for holding some city records my Senior year. But....many years later I can say that I have TWO Gold Medals for cards I made in the VSN Olympics!! How awesome is that!! One of the cards is the one I am posting today. The VSN Olympic Challenge was~ I Believe. Our card needed to have a musical element, follow the sketch given, and finish the inside. I have been wanting to ink up this Chickie Stamp, so here it is. The Chicks are hopping and I put a musical note on the inside next to the sentiment. Fun, Fun challenge!

Supplies: Stamps: Stampendous Chickie Hop Paper: Basic Grey Urban Prairie, White Bazzil Ink: Black Memento Accessories: Copics Y000, Y11, Y13, Y15,YR65, RV000, RV11, RV23, Spellbinders squares, Ribbon

CHAPTER 4: Picturing Wonderland

Happy Saturday! It's time for another Oh,Alice! Challenge!
"Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew, Beneath the setting sun. Alice! a childish story take,And with gentle hand lay it were Childhood's dreams are twined. In Memory's mystic band,Like pilgrim's wither'd wreath of flowers Pluck'd in a far-off land..."
We have another sketch Challenge today, this time brought to us by our very own Pam Varnell! Pam created this sketch JUST for the Oh, Alice! DT blog and it just reminds me of Wonderland itself! Here's the sketch
For my card I used Sassy Studio digital stamps from their Alice in Wonderland Collection. They are colored with Copics. The cake is cut out using a Spellbinders circle die and the rabbit is cut out and popped up next to the cake. I put glossy accents on the white cake trim and the clock face. The paper is from a K&Co Tim Coffey paper package from many moons ago! The sentiment is from the Sassy Studio collection as well.
We'd LOVE for you to plunge Down the Rabbit hole with us again this week! All you have to do is upload your creation and link it using Mr. Linky below! The keyword this week for public galleries is OAC4.
There's no time limit for this week's sketch, so take your time here in Wonderland and ENJOY! See you next Saturday, everyone!

This paper is a beautiful white with just a hint of flecks of sand. My loving this paper wouldn't have anything to do with it being named after the sand where I live!

The DP is from the DCWV Linen Closet Stack. The rose is popped up on a panel cut out with a Spellbinders Labels 9. The scalloped panel is from one of the papers in the stack with some tiny half pearls added. The sentiment is part of the stamp set. Gorgeous set to work with!

It's Oh, Alice! Challenge Time!

CHAPTER 3: Painting the Roses Red "Would you tell me please," said Alice a little timidly, "Why are you painting those roses?" Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two. Two began in a low voice, "Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a Red rose tree, and we put a white one in by mistake"... Welcome back! We're painting the Roses RED...and blue...and purple....and hey, we're painting our NAILS too! Check out this AWESOMELY ALICE inspiration picture featuring this SUPER cool new O.P.I. She is colored with Copics and I framed her with a piece of cardstock cut out with a Spellbinders Labels 4 die to mimic the keyholes in the picture above. Isn't she just adorable?! The layout is from this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #63. Just love her sketches! I found some sparkly ribbon in my stash for the ribbon/bow and added a new Prima flower to the top. Anise Anise

Happy Thursday to ya!! This is another card I did for this past weekend's Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast. I love doing the challenges because you only have 45 minutes to complete your card, therefore you do not have time to get bogged down second guessing yourself about your card elements. This VSN Challenge~Go For The Gold! The challenge- use gold on your card. I have been trying to use more purple on my cards. I tend to go for pinks and greens! The stamps are a sneak peek of a Mark's Finest Papers March release that is coming up next week! For this card, I airbrushed the background of the image panel with Copics V15 and V17. I sprayed the lighter violet color. The center of the image panel was then masked with a Spellbinders oval cut out and the outside sprayed with the darker violet. The pearls on the butterfly are white ones that I colored with a Copic Y26 marker. Y26 is a good color to use for gold.

What's The Story?

Happy Tuesday! My card today is for two My Favorite Things Challenges. I had just the right Flopsey for these challenges! This is "What's The Story" Flopsey stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on Ivory Bazzil. "She" is left unfinished. The booktext is a digital paper I downloaded from The Vintage Moth. I used the "H" page. You can see "Hare" in the upper right and "Happy" on the middle left. Great words for this card don't you think?
