A Featured Christmas MoJo

Hi There! What a busy stamping day yesterday. I participated in the SCS Virtual Stamp Night challenges and also did the SCS Inspiration Challenge and today I have the SCS Featured Stamper Challenge card to show you. Today's SCS Featured Stamper is ~Sister of Davy~ Angela Crockett. I loved going through her gallery and when I came upon this card I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I have been wanting to make some little round cards and I just got some Taylored Expressions "Wings of Joy" stamp images in the mail from a WishRak friend today! The card layout is this weeks MoJo Monday Sketch #127. I actually have five of these cards on my table to meet my monthly obligation for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge!

Supplies: Stamps: Taylored Expressions Wings of Joy Paper: White, My Minds Eye Home Glitter Book, Pink Passion Accessories: Copics RV17, RV19, BG10, BG72, YG03, Clear and Lemon atYou Spica Pens, Ribbon, Spellbinders Circles

CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat. "I don’t much care where--" said Alice. "Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat. We have a fabulous sketch challenge today designed by our own TWISTED Tea Party member, Mary Giles! Here is the sketch:
We are VERY honored to be introducing our first sponsor to you today. Kathy from Pixie Dust Studios has VERY generously let us work with her new Digis from her "Down the Rabbit Hole" collection debuting March 1st! What's more? ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at random from this week's participants to choose THREE FREE DIGIS of their choice from Pixie Dust Studios! Thank you Kathy!
Well, you know that Alice in Wonderland had the the theme of playing cards intermingled throughout the story. So, I pulled out an over sized playing card from my stash and decided that would be a good starting point for using the "Opposites Attract" digi from Pixie Dust Studios.
Of course I had to use the "two" of spades card! The sweet little couple is colored with Copics, cut out and popped up on a Ruby Red panel that was cut with a circle Spellbinders. The spade behind the couple was cut out from the DP (Creative Imaginations). The sentiment is a Pixie Dust digi too! I found a couple of heart beads and added them in "opposite" corners of the card.
You have until FRIDAY, March 5, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above sketch as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC2) and LINK your name on the Oh,Alice! Blog using Mr. Linky!
We can't WAIT to see your creations!

Clean and Simple Monogram Card

Happy Thursday to Ya! It is cold again, here in "sunny" Florida. Hopefully it will warm up some for the weekend! My card today is my attempt at Clean and Simple. I used supplies from the February Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions. Love the black and white theme in the kit with a pop of color! The monograms are a digital download from Taylored Expressions as well call Many Marvelous Monograms. I embossed the pink panel with a CB folder. If you would like to see other cards made from the kit, check out Taylor's Blog and a there is a link to a few of her design team members that did cards as well. I think I will do a set of these cards as a little gift to my favorite person who's name starts with an "A". That would be my mom "Audrey"! Love you Mom!! This Friday and Saturday is Virtual Stamp Night on Splitcoast. The fun begins Friday night at 6pm EST. Come on over and join in the fun! AND.... On Saturday there will be new challenge posted on the Oh, Alice! Blog and yes....there is a prize again this week! Enjoy!

A Rose For Judi

Happy "Over the Hump Day"! All day yesterday I kept thinking it was Wednesday for some reason. What a shocker when I realized it was only Tuesday! My card today is for this weeks SCS Featured Stamper Challenge~Everything's Coming Up Roses! Judi Rose has a wonderful gallery full of inspiration, especially Roses! I chose Judi's card here for my CASE. It is only fitting that we pass the roses along to Featured Stamper's! I changed the stamp, paper and layout. The layout is from this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge . The stamp set is a sneak peek of a March New Release set from Mark's Finest Papers .
I colored the rose using prismacolor pencils and OMS. The paper is a new "pencil paper" from Mark's Finest Papers. Similar to watercolor paper but great for pencils as well. If you want to check it out, it is called Premium Colored Pencil Paper. The paper is Basic Grey Lemonade. The stamp is cut out and layered on a white panel cut with a Spellbinders Label 4 die and sponged around the edges with pink ink. What would a card be without some ribbon and pearls? Have a great day! Enjoy!

Waltzingmouse Customer Blog Hop!

Today is the first ever Waltzingmouse Customer Blog Hop! We have about fifty wonderful crafters participating, so grab a cup of tea (or coffee!) and join in the hop! To start at the beginning of the hop, go to the Waltzingmouse Blog. When I signed up for the hop, I didn't think about the theme and what Waltzingmouse stamps I had in my stash. With the theme being "Spring", I had to do some creative thinking! I took out my favorite set, Sewing Box Christmas, and decided there were definitely things that could be used for Spring. Nothing like taking cold and wintry, to warm and sunny!! I think that was the intent of the theme anyway. We have all had such a unusual winter and if you are like me, wishing for Spring has been a daily occurrence! So onto my tag card... I stamped the tree with Green Galore and then set out stamping the little ornaments in all the colors of spring. (Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Lavender Lace, Only Orange and YoYo Yellow). They were cut out with a 3/4" circle punch and placed randomly on the tree. Definitely need some springtime sparkle, so each got a rhinestone in the middle. The heart was stamped with Pixie Pink, cut out and placed on top of the tree container. The entire tree is cut out using the Mega Curved Rectangles from Spellbinders and sponged around the edges with Lavender Lace while still in the die. I used this weeks CPS Sketch #155 for the layout. The sentiment is computer generated. A springtime green ribbon treatment finishes the card.

Hope you enjoyed my "creative thinking" :) Next stop on the hop is Anya. Now, off you go!

You Make Me Smile!

Good Morning! We had a day full of sunshine and warm weather yesterday. It definitely makes you smile! This card is for yesterday's SCS Inspiration Challenge~Lark. What a fun and crafty Aussie Store! The web page banner was my inspiration for this challenge. The little flowers across the top caught my eye! Knowing that I was going to use the Papertrey Blooming Button Bits set, I went with this weeks Papertrey Peeps Challenge using the colors of one of the Muesli Cereal boxes.

Supplies: Stamps: PTI Blooming Button Bits and Signature Greetings Paper: PTI Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides and White Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Baja Breeze Accessories: Ribbon, Buttons, White DMC Floss, MS Border Punch Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Oh,Alice! and Down The Rabbit Hole!

CHAPTER ONE: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: THE BEGINNING... "The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. "Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?" he asked."Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop." ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake, let's GET GLAM with Alice! Jessica recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror! We wanna see how YOU get Glam using this amazing little piece as your inspiration! Show us your style, put on the glitz, and GET GLAM!
For this challenge I made an Easel card using the pop up mirror on the make-up box as my inspiration. The stamp is Wild Sprout Megan from the Greeting Farm. She is a little sassy like Alice! She is colored with Copics and her hair is "glammed up" with touches of rhinestones. The DP is Twitterpated from Imaginisce. Just had to use that mushroom paper! The sentiments are computer generated and straight from Alice's Unbirthday Song. If you click on the photo, you should be able to read the bottom sentiment. NOW.... WHAT would our first Challenge be without a PRIZE?! Now, normally we'll be (hopefully) sponsored on the 1st Sat. of each month, but for today's FIRST Fall Down the Rabbit Hole, we thought we'd give away a little something! ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at Random to WIN a stamp single of their choice from THE GREETING FARM (in stock items only). So, GOOD LUCK and here's how to play: You have until FRIDAY, February 26, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above inspiration photo as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC1) and LINK your name on the Oh, Alice Blog in Mr. Linky! Hello Friend

Happy Thursday!
This weeks Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge is "All About Me". Use what you love and what makes you happy!! Use your favorite colors, stamps, layout, and embellishments! Whatever ROCKS your world! I have been wanting to make a card using these little paper flowers that seem to be everywhere in stamp land these days! I love Flourishes stamps and I love flowers, so I went with the challenge for this card.
The background is stamped with Flourishes Damask on Kraft with White Craft Ink. I stamped the Damask again on white cardstock using Black Memento Ink, then cut out using the CB Flower dies. Each of the flowers are snipped in toward the center so that the flower can be pulled up to give dimension. The flower layers are held together with a black brad. The sentiment is from the Flourishes Sweet Violets set.

I am taking tomorrow off from blogging to get caught up from my travels. See you back here Saturday for the kick off of the Oh, Alice Saturday Challenges. It is going to be one "Twisted Time"! Come on over to the Oh, Alice Blog and join the fun!
Enjoy!

Valentines, A Special Birthday and A Special Card

Hi Everyone!! I wanted to share some pictures from Sunday. Not only was it Valentine's Day, it was my daughter Vanessa's 21st Birthday! Wow! Those 21 years flew by fast! We had a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends. Here is a little slide show of pictures.
When we arrived home from Tennessee late Monday night, I had a package waiting from my good friend Linda in Canada. She had been looking a long time for a particular Cricut cartridge and I was able to score one for her on Amazon.com. She was so excited!
Well, when I opened my package, this is the card that was inside. You should have heard me! I was so excited to see the Thank You card she had made. It is a replica of my blog header!! If you view my blog in "reader", you must click on the post title so it takes you to a full view of my blog.
Isn't this the most fabulous 3D card you have ever seen?!!
Thank you so much Linda!! You are a true gem and you are rockin with the Cricut!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!
I traveled to Tennessee late Thursday afternoon from Florida, just skirting the snowy weather that came across Mississippi and Alabama late Thursday and into yesterday. Close call, I tell ya!
Since I am traveling and away from my craft room, I will not have cards to show you for a few days. It has been a busy week with Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop and New Releases. Today is the last day to comment on my Blogaversary post and be eligible for the Blog Candy!
One of the things I love to do is meet fellow stampers in person that I have seen or talked to online at release parties or the Splitcoast challenges and forums. I was so happy to meet up with Cammie yesterday at Starbucks for a cup of coffee and some stamp chatter. What a sweet person!! She has only been stamping a year and a half and I probably overwhelmed her with all my experiences from the past five or six years. We found we have a common love of Flourishes and Papertrey Ink stamps. Check out her blog and wonderful cards at Sweet Violets Paperie.
Have a great day and see you back here tomorrow to announce the blog candy winner!

Mark's Finest Papers February Blog Hop Day 2!

Happy Thursday and Welcome to Day 2 of the MFP Blog Hop! I could not resist making a card with the Cat and Mouse from Mark's Finest Papers Speedy The Cat and Friends set. Such a fun set to play with, especially if you love animals like I do! I colored Speedy the Cat and his mouse friends using Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I like using Prismas when I am coloring blacks. They are easier for me to get the right shading. That's not to say that I have given up on Copics for blacks, just need to get more practice!! The papers are from Mark's Finest Papers except for the background DP. The layout for my card is this weeks Friday's Sketchers #88. I flipped the sketch, omitted one of the panels and placed the sentiment in the middle of the mice running in circles. :)

Mark's Finest Papers February Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!! Mark's Finest Papers Design Team is celebrating our BRAND NEW STAMPS for the Speedy the Cat Designer Collection and Serenity Collection with a Blog Hop! They are available TODAY! I have been wanting to make one of these Magic Boxes for a looooong time. The stamps in the Spring and Easter Set are fabulous, fun, and just right for the box. I fashioned my box after one that is on the Magic-Box.com website. Each of the side panels are made in layers to add some weight to the sides so they flop down when the lid is removed. I sponged blue skies and green rolling hills for each of the panels. The lid is kept simple with a double bow and one of the butterflies from the set, colored with Copics.
Here is the box with the lid removed! As the panels flop down, the butterflies come to life dancing around the Chick. I used some flower soft around the chick and added some colored eggs. The butterflies are covered with clear atYou Spica and they just sparkle as they fly!
Hope you enjoyed my little box full of springtime joy! I really enjoyed making it!
Time to get hopping!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

*****Go HERE for the Blogaversary Blog Candy Giveaway!
Drawing will be held on February 14th!*****
Good Tuesday Morning! This little girl is part of the MFT Pure Innocence line of stamps, named "My Basket of Stamps". Isn't she just precious? I pulled out the Basic Grey Sugar Rush DP and found a pattern and colors that fit the Easter theme. The card layout (with just a little tweak) is from this weeks MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge (MFTWSC020310).
Click Photo to Enlarge
My little girl is colored with Copics. I tried my hand at red hair this time. I love red hair (it is the color of my own hair) but I tend to gravitate to blond and sometimes brown when I am coloring with Copics. She is a little on the "carrot top" side but I like her! The bottom panel is punched with a MS border punch and half pearls added to the flower centers. A pale green satin ribbon and bow adds the finishing touch. Copics Used: Skin-E00 Hair- YR04, YR07, E09, E17 Basket- C1, C3 Dress- YG03, R22 Eggs- R22, V12, B21, Y15, YR02, Clear atYou Spica for sparkle Just to remind you~ Coming up in a couple of days~Mark's Finest Papers Design Team is celebrating our BRAND NEW STAMPS for the Speedy the Cat Designer Collection and Serenity Collection with a Blog Hop! The blog hop runs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Awesome new stamps coming our way!! Enjoy!

One Last Valentine Card

*****Go HERE for the Blogaversary Blog Candy Giveaway! Drawing will be held on February 14th!*****
Happy Monday!! I have a couple of new techniques in this post today. I hope you like them and will give them a try sometime! This is my last Valentine card for the season. I have to get mine in the mail by Tuesday so that all my huggable family and friends will get them on time! I started this card for one of the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenges that they are doing to celebrate the anniversary of the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. It is FTTC52F and the challenge is to use your favorite Flourishes stamp set. I have to say that "Lace Heart" is my all time favorite. It can be feminine, it can be manly, it can be used for all kinds of occasions when you want to speak from the heart. The heart is stamped with Ruby Red. I sponged the edges with Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie. This was to match the oranges in the Basic Grey Sugar Rush DP. Just love that paper!! After cutting out the heart, I put a ruffled border around the edge in white. The tutorial for the ruffle can be found on Jan Tink's blog. I used this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #59 for the layout. This card also meets this weeks Crazy4Challenges #23 challenge to make a Valentine theme card.
The second technique I used was to cover the entire heart using a Clear atYou Spica pen. In real life it is a sparkling sensation! I took the close up photo below so that you can see for yourself. If you click the photo you will get an even better view. Love this technique.
Enjoy!

I added a button (couldn't find a heart one...) to the sentiment circle to meet this week's Papertrey Peeps #1 challenge. The DP is some new that I picked up yesterday and was just itching to use it! Christmas In January???

*****Go HERE for the Blogaversary Blog Candy Giveaway!
Drawing will be held on February 14th!*****
Happy Thursday!! I have joined the Splitcoast Christmas Card Challenge again this year and committed to making five cards a month. The challenge runs for eleven months so I will end up with at least 55 cards by the end of November. That will be one thing checked off of my holiday "to do" list early on! For January's challenge I chose to use a Waltzingmouse stamp set called Sewing Box Christmas. My inspiration for this card came from Claire's blog (owner of Waltzingmouse).

Supplies: Stamps: Waltzingmouse Sewing Box Christmas and Very Vintage Labels #4 Paper: Always Artichoke, White, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Ink: Black Memento, Rose Red, Always Artichoke Accessories: Spellbinders Labels4, Ribbon, Sizzix Embossing Folder, Button
I will probably take the day off from blogging tomorrow since I have gotten my nose in the first book of the Twilight series. Bill and Vanessa gave me all four books for Christmas! Have you all read them? If so, what did you think?

Happy Birthday Papertrey Ink!!

*****Go HERE for the Blogaversary Blog Candy Giveaway! Drawing will be held on February 14th!*****
Happy Wednesday!!
Papertrey Ink is celebrating their third birthday this week with lots of news, new designers and fun challenges. I was able to finish cards for two of the challenges. Had to make them clean and simple in order to get them done! A working girl doesn't have time in the evenings to work on cards....unless you catch me staying up half the night.....Each of the designers had a digital file on their blog that you could download and make a card with.
My first card is using Dawn McVey's Happy Birthday sentiment in her signature style. I used PTI Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet papers, CB Swiss Dot folder and Spellbinders circles. A double ribbon in matching colors finishes the card. The layout is from this weeks MoJo Monday Challenge #124.
My second card is using Heather Nichols (Pine) cupcake file. It is only fitting to have three cupcakes for a third birthday, right?! I added atYou Spica Lemon to the candle flames and Clear to the frosting swirls. The papers are PTI Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides and White. The sentiment is from the Signature Greetings Set.

Happy Birthday PTI!! Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday! If the weather is anything like it is here, we could all use a pair of these red mittens! My card today is from the SCS Virtual Stamp Night Challenge~Red Mittens. Adelle was our fabulous hostess for the challenge and gave a little information about the Olympics and the Red Mittens~ "One of my favorite parts of the opening ceremonies is the lighting of the torch. The relay leading up to these games is the longest domestic torch run in history, including more than 12 000 individual runners and reaching the most northern, southern, eastern and western points of the host country, Canada. Each of the torchbearers wears an official uniform including a pair of red mittens. They are red and white, fleece lined and toasty warm." Her challenge was to make a card that included the colors red and white and the use of wool/yarn. I pulled out a set that I have never inked up from Waltzingmouse Stamps. The set includes a lot of images with stitching on them. Love this set! The mittens were perfect for this challenge! The sentiment on the inside of the card states "Hope you are keeping warm and cozy".
