One Last Valentine Card

*****Go HERE for the Blogaversary Blog Candy Giveaway! Drawing will be held on February 14th!*****
Happy Monday!! I have a couple of new techniques in this post today. I hope you like them and will give them a try sometime! This is my last Valentine card for the season. I have to get mine in the mail by Tuesday so that all my huggable family and friends will get them on time! I started this card for one of the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenges that they are doing to celebrate the anniversary of the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. It is FTTC52F and the challenge is to use your favorite Flourishes stamp set. I have to say that "Lace Heart" is my all time favorite. It can be feminine, it can be manly, it can be used for all kinds of occasions when you want to speak from the heart. The heart is stamped with Ruby Red. I sponged the edges with Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie. This was to match the oranges in the Basic Grey Sugar Rush DP. Just love that paper!! After cutting out the heart, I put a ruffled border around the edge in white. The tutorial for the ruffle can be found on Jan Tink's blog. I used this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #59 for the layout. This card also meets this weeks Crazy4Challenges #23 challenge to make a Valentine theme card.

The second technique I used was to cover the entire heart using a Clear atYou Spica pen. In real life it is a sparkling sensation! I took the close up photo below so that you can see for yourself. If you click the photo you will get an even better view. Love this technique.
Enjoy!

Hi,Peggy. I'd love to meet you too. I'm free both Friday and Saturday. Let me know what part of town you'll be staying and what time is good for you. BTW, I love your blog design and your card is beautiful. Love those vibrant colors.

Wowzers, Peggy, this is gorgeous! I love your color combo and that ruffle really caught my eye. I had to pop over and see how Jan did it, and as luck would have it I just purchased a crimper. Must try! She is too funny in that tutorial. This is really an attractive card for sure. Thanks for the birthday wishes and have a wonderful trip.

Such a pretty card! I love that ruffled border! I've never seen that before. I'm curious to know how its done. I also can't believe you colored the entire heart with a pen! Is there any ink left? LOL! Looks fabulous! I'm sure its really sparkly in real life too.
