Pilgrim Penny

Happy Saturday everyone and Happy Halloween!

Meet "Pilgrim Penny". She is one of KLM Digital Designs releases for October. I colored her outfit in non-traditional colors to go with the Cosmo Cricket DP. Some diagonal swipes with the Colorless blender on her apron, hat trim and collar gives them a touch of pattern. The layout for the card is this weeks sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

Isn't she a cutie?

Clean and Simple Christmas Card

Today is Friday for me at work! I am off tomorrow and will be at Faith's stamping retreat at Stephen Foster State Park for the weekend. Since I have to be in Miami Monday morning for a meeting with a company we have contracted with, Bill and I are flying out of Jacksonville Sunday afternoon. We decided to experience "South Beach" and are staying in Miami Beach. I already have orders from my daughter to find Miami Ink and get pictures and autographs! We used to watch their show on TV. They really are artistic with their tattoos but you won't find any on this girl!! Ok...on to my card :) This card is one of six I made this month to go toward my obligation on the SCS Christmas Card Challenge to make five a month. Slipped in an extra this month! Since this is October, I now have 51 cards made for the holidays. I love it!! No last minute rush and pressure....

A Beautiful Florida Sunset

On my way home yesterday as I was traveling over the Garcon Point Bridge, I happened to look over my shoulder and my breath was taken away. There to my right and moving behind me was the most beautifully colored sky over Escambia Bay! I have to say that the sunsets here in Florida are spectacular! I stopped in the middle of the bridge (no cars were coming either way!) , got out my IPhone and snapped away. The picture is a little grainy but it is true to what I was seeing. Have a great Wednesday! I promise I will have something crafty to post tomorrow.

One Last Halloween Card

Is it Monday already?? Seems like the weekends fly by and when you get older, they go even quicker!! This card is the last of my Halloween card making for this year. After several cards, projects and nine pillow box buckets, I am ready to move on to something else! This card is made using the Our Craft Lounge Holiday Cruiser stamp set. When I saw the car in this set, I was hooked! Isn't it super adorable? I used this weeks Weekend Sketch #103 for the layout and incorporated the challenge from Crazy4Challenges #8, "Its All Geometric". You must include at least three geometric shapes on your card. I have squares, rectangles and inverted scallop circles. The paper is Summer Sun, Only Orange, Bazzil Purple, Black, and K&Co Halloween Whimsy.

The image is colored with Copics and cut out. The headlight, taillight and windshield all have a layer of glossy accents. The hat is colored with Copics and then a layer of clear atYou Spica was added to give it some sparkle. It was then cut out and popped up so it looks like it has flown off the drivers head.

My little witch is in a real hurry to get to Tennessee for Halloween!! She has a few people to spook!! Copics Used: V0000, V01, V12, V15, YG00, YG03, E00, E31, E33, C1, C3, C5, C7 Have a wonderful week!! I am getting lots of things done this week (besides working at my job...) as I am off to Faith's stamping retreat this Friday. Three days of jam packed fun!! Enjoy!

I chose this card for my CASE. I changed the stamp set, colors, ribbon, and used this week's sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for my layout. I won this stamp set participating in Mercy's weekly challenge. It came in the mail today. How is that for fast work!! Love this stamp set!

Just For Being You

Happy Friday!! This is the last of the cards that I made on World Card Making Day. The SCS Challenge was sponsored by GinaK. This stamp is "Arranged With Love" by Melanie Muenchinger. Such a beautiful and detailed stamp image to work with! The image is stamped on GinaK Pure Luxury Ivory and colored with Copics. The challenge was to use Orange, Brown and Ivory, so I colored the flowers with those colors and layered the image on Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie and Bazzil French Vanilla. The sentiment is one of the ten contained in the stamp set.

This next picture is to show you what I did with the edges of the flowers. The Lemon atYou Spica pen has become my best friend for placing highlights on the edges of leaves. I decided to give it a try on the orange flowers since they are in the same color family. Then I moved on to the brown ones. Turned out beautifully!!

I am sure I can find a very special person to send this card to!! Enjoy!

Pilgrim Scott

Hi Everyone and Happy Thursday!! Only four more Thursdays till Thanksgiving!! This card is for this weeks Crazy4Challenges Sketch Challenge #7. I used the KLM Digital Designs digi stamp, Pilgrim Scott. This little guy and his turkey brings back memories of last Thanksgiving. It was our first year in our new house and the stove that is supposed to be a convection oven, did not behave like one. Needless to say the Turkey took longer than expected to get done! Pilgrim Scott is colored with Prismacolor Pencils/Gamsol and Copics. There is a touch of metallic silver pen on the hat and shoe buckles as well as the platter. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders circle die and layered on two Mega Curved Rectangles. The DP is from the Debbie Mum Harvest and Holiday Stack. Background panel is Bazzil green.

TGIF!! And, for those of you that are "Bosses", Happy Bosses Day!! I am not sure I am looking forward to the weekend. They are calling for the temps to fall tomorrow afternoon. The high on Saturday and Sunday is only going to be in the 60's and the lows in the mid 40's. BRRRRRRRR! I just love this stamp set by My Favorite Things. In fact I love all the stamp sets from MFT!! The stamp set is Coffee? Tea? from the Who's That Girl series.

Sparkling Holiday Gifts

Hi Everyone!! This card is for two Flourishes challenges. The first one is A Season That Sparkles Challenge. If you play along, you have a chance to win all of their new sets for October! That is one spectacular prize!! The Flourishes Newsletter had this to say about the challenge~Glitzy packages, the new fallen snow, a Christmas ornament shimmering from the lights on the tree - all of these things equal magic during the holiday season. Capture that sparkle on a card and share your creativity. So...for my card, I pulled out their stamp set "All Wrapped Up" and stamped and gold embossed the packages on Flourishes European Watercolor Paper. The images were colored with an aquapainter using Real Red and Always Artichoke ink.
I used the sketch from the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC37) for the layout. The gold medallion is cut using a Fiskars Circle punch. The gold panel behind the gifts and the red panel were embossed using a Sizzix EF. The solid color papers are Real Red and Handsome Hunter. I used some gold metallic rub on paste on the red embossed panel and on the edges of all the other panels. If you click on the photo below, you will see all the extra "sparkle" on the ribbons and bows of the packages. This was done with Star Dust Stickles. Red Kaiser pearls were added at the top.

This Friday night is the Flourishes Power Hour and from the sneak peeks I have seen, the new release sets are going to be fabulous!! Enjoy!

Friends and the 80's

Good Morning!

This card is for several challenges. Four as a matter of fact!

I started with the World Card Making Day Challenge on SCS, sponsored by Stamping Bella. The challenge was to include something that you and your girlfriends do for fun and to infuse 1980's colors/style into your card.

I try to do the SCS Inspiration Challenge each Saturday. Steph chose the Kir DeVries website as a source of inspiration. As soon as I saw this tea set, I knew that my "Cosmosbella" and "Billboardabella" stamps would be perfect for both of these challenges!

The girls go out from time to time after work and Cotton Candy Cosmos are a favorite!!

To get the "big hair" of the 80's, I used Cosmobella's body and Billboardabella's head. The colors/fashion of the 80's were bright, neon, stonewashed jeans, fishnet stockings, fingerless gloves, heavy mascara, and lots of bling! I meant to put some large hoop earrings on my bella!

This card uses Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for the layout and the Crazy4Challenges #5 to use stitching on your card.

Whew!!
