Stippled and Salted

Happy Wednesday!!
This is a card I made quite some time ago for one of the SCS Virtual Stamp Night Challenges. If you ever have the time to participate in a VSN, you will find they are a lot of fun. The hostesses are hilarious with the chatter while you are trying to make a card from start to finish in 45 minutes. Each hour a new challenges starts. My brain is usually mush at the end of a VSN session, but it is always a great experience! There is a mini VSN scheduled for October 24th. Come join in!!

The challenge for this card was called "Sodium Reduced Soup". We were to do a salted background. I have never done this technique and was a little hesitant about misting glossy cardstock, dropping re-inker colors, misting more and then sprinkling with salt....What a fun technique!! Just make sure you are near the kitchen sink!! If you want more information on this technique you can find it here.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Stipple Butterfly Paper: Glossy White, Cool Caribbean, Pretty in Pink Ink: Black Memento, Pretty in Pink Re-inker, Cool Caribbean Re-inker Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Kaiser Pearls, MS Border Punch, Turquoise atYou Spica pen, Lacey trim Enjoy!

Fall Harvest

Yes, I guess I have to admit that Fall is here!! October is a few days away! It was 90 degrees here today!! But over the next few days they are calling for much cooler weather. This card is made using this weeks sketch from the Crazy4Challenges blog. Awesome design team they have over there and I love getting to participate each week when I can!

The image is from KLM Digital Designs and is colored with Copics. The sky and grass are sponged with Bashful Blue and Old Olive inks. I added touches of atYou Spica on the leaves and apples, but is hard to see in the picture. The image is cut out using a Spellbinders die. The paper is from the DCWV Indian Summer Stack. I used a Top Note die to cut the plaid paper and then used a Chocolate Chip marker to add depth to the dashes around the edges. The green panel edges are scored with a Scor Bug and Brown Metallic Dots added to the corners. Copics Used: R22, R27, G40, G82, G85, E21, E31, E33, YR61, YR65 Enjoy!

A JustRite Very Merry

Happy Monday! Hope every one's week goes well! I was able to do quite a bit of stamping over the weekend. I was able to participate in the SCS Saturday Inspiration Challenge, the SCS Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge and finished my cards for the monthly SCS Christmas Card Challenge. Whew!!

Beate's sketch for the Weekend Sketch Challenge #99 caught my eye this week and I decided to use it for my last CCC card for this month. The card is an unusual size for me at 3x6 but I went with it and loved the end result. I started with the paper, Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses. From there I pulled out my JustRite Old Fashioned Christmas set and colored up the Snowman in colors to match the plaid paper. The fur trim on his hat is made with liquid applique. The image is cut out with a Spellbinders scallop circle and before taking out of the die, it was sponged with a dauber that had left over red ink in it. Other papers used were Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive and Bazzil Pink. The sentiment is from the SU Short and Sweet set and punched with the SU Modern Label punch. The Kaiser pearls added to the corners and sentiment were white and colored with a Copic R59 marker. I really had fun making this card! Copics Used: R39, R43, R46, G82, G85, Coo, YR61, YR65 Enjoy!

Snowy Owl Inspiration

Happy Saturday!! What a week it has been. Even though I had a short week at work it was hectic. Glad it is the weekend!! This card is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge "The Pajama Squid" (IC199). What a fun website to get inspiration from! I chose this pillow for my inspiration. Not hard to decide on what to make as I have an "Ollie" stamp from Victoria Case Art Designs! Based on the colors of the pillow, it was an easy decision to go with a more wintry owl. My mom has a picture of a Snowy Owl hanging in her house. They are absolutely beautiful!
For this card, I used the sketch from this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #40. Love her sketches!! My "Ollie" is colored with Copics and adorned with Polar White Flower Soft. The DP is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. Solids are SU Cranberry Crisp, Cool Caribbean and Wild Wasabi. There are touches of Baby Blue Stickles around the flowers and atYou Clear Spica on the flower edges and centers. I made the brads with the I-Top tool and the Eskimo Kisses paper. They are so easy to make. What a fun tool! Copics Used: G82, G85, BG0000, BG01, BG05, E31, E57, C3, R27 Enjoy!

A Different Kind Of Holiday Greeting

Hi Everyone!! Made it back from Tennessee yesterday evening and was able to skirt most of the stormy weather on the way. Good to be home! Missed working on cards while I was away but there was a package with new PTI stamps waiting on the counter for me!
This card is for today's SCS Sketch Challenge (SC247), the Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge #35~ to use non traditional colors, and yesterdays SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC237)~ Crushed Black Razzleberries. The stamp sets are PTI's Stocking Prints and Signature Christmas. The Stocking Prints set is so much fun! You can change out the stockings and cuffs for many different variations. Isn't the sentiment lovely? The Signature Christmas set was designed by Dawn McVey and she has the most beautiful handwriting! The paper is Crushed Curry, Rich Razzelberry, Black and the DP is SU Razzleberry Lemonade. This card looks a lot better in person. My camera is a little finicky with yellows. Will have to work on the exposure some! Enjoy!

Sweet Baby Girl

I saw the instructions for this onsie card several months ago and thought I would give it a try. It is one of several cards I keep in my stash for those days when I am traveling and cannot make a new card to upload.
Our trip to Tennessee was smooth sailing. Cloudy but no rain. But since we have been here it has rained off and on the whole time. I think they may be in for a "snow filled" cold winter!!
I followed most of the instructions on Lauren Meader's blog for the onsie. The paper is SU Pretty in Pink. The little giraffe is from SU Little Hellos stamp set, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with pencils. The scallops are cut out with Spellbinders scallop circles and pierced.
Such a fun card to make!
Enjoy!

JustRite Holiday Cheer

Happy Friday!! Somehow it doesn't seem possible that in a couple of weeks it will be October!! The weather here in NW Florida is still quite warm. Upper 80's every day. We are heading up to Tennessee today and my brother has kept me informed of the temperature there. Yesterday the high was a cool 68 degrees. I told him I would have to bring a coat. Then I remembered....I don't have a coat!! This card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #39. Her sketches are always fun to create with! I love doing challenges but always seem to be trying hard to get things posted before the next challenge comes up. Last minute just doesn't seem to be working. Well Mercy had a post a few days where she showed her method for keeping track of challenges and design team assignments. I am going to try something different and work on being ahead of time instead of always behind. I will keep you posted!

For this card I used the JustRite Old Fashioned Christmas set. Love this set. The images fit the 3 1/4 wood stamper so they are quite large. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils using the gamsol technique. Ink colors used are Memento Black and Riding Hood Red The green background panel is punched with the EK Success Snowflake edge punch and layered on Bazzil French Vanilla. The DP is from the Debbie Mum Harvest and Holiday stack. The red cord and rhinestones finish out the card. Enjoy!

Halloween Cuties

I am having so much fun with Halloween cards and projects this year! Still trying to decide on a couple more stamp sets to play with. While deciding....Soft Pencil (aka Elizabeth Pujalka) published some new digi's "Little Witch" and "Little Bat". I could not resist them!!
The Crazy 4 Challenges blog was started recently and love, love, love all the ladies on this team! My goal is to do their challenge EVERY week. My card is made with this weeks sketch by Cindy Haffner.
This has been a goal setting year for me! I have found that setting goals throughout the year is better than a long list when we bring in a new year. If you get a chance, leave me a comment and tell me about your goal setting methods and what successes you have had!
The images on my card are colored with Copics and cut out. Papers are GinaK White, Pumpkin Pie and Bazzil Black. The DP is from the Debbie Mum Harvest and Holiday Stack. This stack is a three in one. Halloween, Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas/Holiday papers! Ribbon, Pop dots and Rhinestones are the accessories.
Copics Used: E51, YR02, BV00, BV02, C3, C5, C7, YG03, YG06, Y11, Y13, Y15
Enjoy!

Hey There, Chickadee!

Happy Monday Everyone!! Hope your week is a good one. Mine will be busy as I prepare to travel on Friday to spend some much needed time with my family in Tennessee! Today's card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #38. I am coming in under the wire! Don't know what is up with Blogger and uploading pictures, but I could not for the life of me get a pic uploaded last night!

(Click on Photo to Enlarge) The stamp set is Everyday Button Bits from Papertrey Ink. Love playing with this set! The papers are Cameo Coral, White, SU DP Pink Flamingo and Flock Together. I punched the edges with a Martha Stewart Border Punch and airbrushed white buttons with Copic R22 to match the papers. Enjoy!

Rubber Duckie Your The One....

When I saw the House Mouse Monday Challenge #51, I just smiled! Sitting on my table waiting for me to ink up was this super cute "Bunny Cruise" stamp. I used the Mojo Monday #103 sketch for my card. The House Mouse challenge is "Song Titles/Lyrics". One of my favorite songs in 1970 was "Rubber Duckie" sung by Jeff Moss. My Dad loves to do "gag gifts" at Christmas and because I was always singing this song and loved rubber ducks, I opened one of my gifts on Christmas Day and guess what it was?!? Yes, my very own rubber duckie!! I kept that duck for many years!

(Click Photo To Enlarge)

The image on the card is colored with Copics. The edges are sponged with Barely Banana. The glass of "Kool-aid" (or whatever drink you want it to be...:) )is covered with Glossy Accents. Paper is Tempting Turquoise, DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies Stack, as well as Stampin Up DP.

Copics Used: Y13, Y15, RV11, R22, R0000, YR04, YG06, E31, E33, E51, B0000, B00, BG10, C1 Rubber Duckie you’re so fine, And I’m lucky that you’re mine, Rubber Duckie I’m awfully fond of you! Want to see Little Richard sing his version of the song? Click here! Enjoy!

Halloween Potions

The Inspiration Challenge (IC197) on Splitcoast today is CWDKids. Lots of cute cute kids clothing! What was even better....they had a Halloween section! I found a couple of cute outfits for inspiration and used the new Taylored Expressions Punchy Potions Kit that came in the mail today. What absolute fun this kit is!! I even had Bill going with me to the store at 11pm tonight to get candy to put in the bottles! :)

I stamped the two oval images on sticker paper, colored them with Copics and cut them out. Stick them on the bottles and tie a ribbon bow around the bottle neck and your done! Easy Peasy!

Copics Used: BV02, YR04, YG03, 100, C00, C1 Enjoy!

Feel of Fall

Happy Friday Everyone!! This card is for the Flourishes "Feel of Fall" Challenge (FLLCSEPT). This challenge also leads up to their Power Hour release party that is tonight at 9:00pm CST on the Splitcoast Forums. I wanted to do a fall theme but in looking through my Flourishes stamp sets, I seem to have a lot of flowers. Love their flowers! I once again pulled out the Gerbera Daisies set because I knew that they could be colored in fall tones. The DP is from the DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack. The green strip is punched with a Fiskars border punch. A bow and Kaiser pearls finish the card. Copics Used: YR02, YR04, YR09, E17, and Flourishes Evergreen Collection (YG91, YG93, YG95 and YG99). Enjoy!

Chocolate Kisses

This card is for this weeks MFT Sketch Challenge (MFTSC97) and today's SCS Color Combo Challenge, "Elegant Basic Olives". Those colors (Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black and Old Olive) beg for a Halloween card, but I wanted to ink up Chocolate "Flopsey" Bunny and could not figure out how to incorporate him in the Halloween theme. So I went with a masculine card theme.

Flopsey is shaded with Copics (C00 and C01). They don't show up well in the photo. The chocolates were colored with E11 and E17. The chair is actually "upholstered"! I stamped the image on the green material and cut it out. Then applied the material to the image using a light coat of Mod Podge. The entire image was cut out and layered on top of a double circle cut with a coluzzle template, then embossed with a Cuttlebug EF. (Swiss Dots and Swirls). I also used the print material as a layer behind the image as well. This was a fun card that came together easily. Wishing I had some of that Chocolate right now! Enjoy!

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge

This card is for Sunday's SCS Featured Stamper, LMcAree. I spent a lot of time in Lori's gallery Saturday night viewing all her wonderful cards. I fell in love with this one and decided to use it as my CASE. I changed the stamp set, colors and did a double embossing for the image. Quite a few people asked me about the double embossing technique. I found an awesome tutorial on YouTube for this technique. You can find it here. It took a couple of tries to get the right "sandwich" as I use a Big Kick and not a Cuttlebug. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will try to help.

A Christmas Fairy

I was looking at some of the digital images on Mo's Digital Pencil Too!, and ended up ordering three to work with. It wasn't two minutes after I completed my order, that up pops a new image that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. I wanted to play with this one immediately!! She is "Holly a Christmas Fairy". Isn't she beautiful? Just love Maurie's images! I used the sketch from the new Crazy For Challenges Blog and the Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge #32, to use traditional Christmas colors.

( Click on Photo to Enlarge)

This is my first attempt at using Prismacolor Pencils and Mineral Spirits to color an image. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Not sure why I shied away from it for so long! Let me know what you think! The ruffle on Holly's dress is glittered. If you enlarge the photo you can see it. The DP is from the Harvest and Holiday stack that is put out by Joann's and Debbie Mum. Added organza ribbon and bow and some Kaiser red pearls in the corners. Enjoy!

Smile!

Happy Saturday and Holiday Weekend! Hope everyone has a safe and fun time this long weekend. I went real clean and simple with this weeks SCS Sketch Challenge. I have been wanting to make this card for a long time and the sketch was a perfect fit. I am sure this is an "oldy but goody" and I found it on Dawn Griffiths blog (Dawn's Stampin Thoughts) with one of her makeover videos. I will be making more of these, maybe in different colors!

No Coloring Mojo!!

When I attended the last Flourishes release party I knew that the Peaches and Cherries set was at the top of my list. I ended up with three sets and the Gerbera Daisies was my last pick. But it is the set I keep reaching for!! Love this set! This card is for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC31) to use "no coloring". This is actually the third card this week that my Copics have not touched. I think I am beginning to have withdrawals...or maybe it is all the wiring attached to my body at the moment called a "Holter Monitor"! We won't go there as to why I am having to wear the contraption... Ok, I know, back to my card... I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch 102 for the layout. Took a few liberties with changing the sketch as my card came together. It is still pretty close to the original.
The daisies are stamped with Cameo Coral on a white panel that was sponged with Apricot Appeal. Then cut out with a Spellbinders scallop circle die. The sentiment panel is stamped the same way. This color combo begs for black and I think it sets it off just right. I added a "Finishing Touch" to the upper corner on the corner punch. Enjoy!

Friendly Perks!

This is from a new MFT stamp set that is being released tonight called Coffee? Tea?. Love this set! You can join the release party tonight on the MFT Forums at 8pm CST. Looks like it is going to be a lot of fun!! I used yesterday's SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC234) colors for my card. Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. Beautiful summery colors! The layout is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC37). Her sketches are fabulous and fun! I will probably make several more cards using this sketch! The Bermuda Bay and White panel are embossed with CB Swiss Dots and Swirls EF's. I added glossy accents to the dots on the cups. The steam coming off the top of the cups was done with another one of the stamps in the set. Enjoy!

Trick or Treat!

I think I have collected every Flopsey stamp that MFT has made! The latest in my collection is this "Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl" set. Last Wednesday's sketch challenge was just right for this stamp set! Here is the sketch.
I started by coloring the image with Copics. Flopsey actually went trick or treating as himself, dressed up in a "bunny suit"! The coloring was a lot of fun until I got to the background. You just don't go trick or treating in the daylight so I kept reaching for the gray and black markers and then put them down. Do you ever have that moment of, "What if I mess up?" I finally caved and colored! It turned out just fine!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl
Paper: Black, Only Orange, Kiwi Kiss, SU DP, White
