Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge

Now that Mercy has re-started her Tuesday Sketch Challenge, I decided to participate this week. Love this sketch!! I also love to look at the blogs of "Mercy's Muses". They do beautiful work!! Here is the sketch. For my card I chose a sweet Greeting Farm stamp. She is HG Snuggle. She is colored with Copics, then cut out with a Spellbinders die. Her dress has touches of chocolate glitter as well as her hair bow. The cream panel is punched with a MS border punch. The paper is from the Making Memories Cosmopolitan Collection. I have nicknamed this paper the "Neapolitan Collection". Reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream! Lastly a pretty pink ribbon and bow was added along with Chocolate Kaiser Pearls on the punched border panel.

Funky Snowgirl

I took a little rest the past couple of days from blogging to re-group, now that August is coming to a close. I finished some design team work for Victoria Case Art Designs. My time with this design team comes to a close at the end of this month. I thoroughly enjoy her stamps and digi's and will continue to support her "behind the scenes". I am a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens...and it has. More on that after September 1st!! I also have been looking to change the format of my blog. I found a really awesome package that I am thinking about using! More on that later, too! Our summer has been full of activities! Several visitors to our home in Gulf Breeze. Bowling tournaments in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. Meeting Victoria while we were in Vegas. Summer bowling league. Frequent visits to the beach. Bill having knee surgery. Vanessa having her wisdom teeth out. Just to name a few. I will miss the summer. It is my favorite season of the year! (Yes, I know, I am a little nuts....) So... guess it is time to trade that "white purse" in for a different color? :) On to my card(s).... I participated in the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast today. Darlene Pavlick is the featured stamper and she has the most wonderful cards in her gallery to chose as inspiration. I chose her card found here for my CASE. I changed the image, cardstock/colors and the embellishments. I also incorporated the Christmas Stampin All Year Long, Card Set Challenge #4 in the layout of my card. And finally, this fulfills my five cards a month requirement for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge for August. I have one card out of the five that is different and chose not to post it. Need to have some surprises left for the holiday!! When I uploaded my card, I found that the color of the snowgirl looks diffferent from the background DP and solid paper. In real life it is very pleasing to the eye. Funny how cameras and computers show something different from what the eye sees!

VCAD Challenge Thursday!!

Happy Thursday everyone!! Today's challenge on the Victoria Case Stamp Blog is to use the colors Blue and Brown. I picked out "Tara", one of Victoria's digis (that will soon be released in rubber!) and some beautiful paper from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies Stack.
Tara is colored with Copics and layered with Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue and then placed on the DP panel. I applied Waterfall Stickles to her wings and the flower centers. The corner papers were cut with scalloped scissors and then paper pierced. Brads in the corners and a satiny bow finish this fun card! Copics Used: B0000, B21, B32, B24, E00, E21, E31, E33, YG0000, YG03, RV11, R00 The second Victoria Case Challenge is a "Back To School" challenge on Papercraft Planet. You can find the challenge here. I used one of Victoria's schoolkid digis, "D is for Devon" for my card. He is so cool!! The card is made with the weekly sketch from SCS as well as the Color Combo Challenge. (Real Red, Kraft and Chocolate Chip). Devon is colored with Copics. The DP is from DCWV Grade School Stack. I did the sentiment by hand and added stitches and dots around the edge as well as around the DP. Copics Used: Copics C00, C1, C3, C7, E00, E31, E33, Y11, Y21, B21, B34 Please come join in the challenges!! You have until next Wed to post on the first challenge. If you do not have a Victoria Case rubber stamp or image, you can email her and she will send you a free digital stamp to use for the challenge. The winner of the weekly blog challenge is given a guest designer spot in an upcoming Thursday challenge. Can't wait to see your creations!! Enjoy!

Trading A Rose for Daisies

(Click Photo To Enlarge)
This card was for this past Sunday's SCS Featured Stamper JoJot (Joanne). I found so many cards in her gallery for inspiration! I landed on two and used the colors from one, and a similar layout from Joanne's card found here. I changed the colors, diecut, moved the embellies to the corners and changed the stamp.
The daisies are from Flourishes new set Gerbera Daisies and are colored with Copics. It took a little while for me to get the shading the way I wanted it. I had researched Gerbera Daisies on the internet and found a picture of a beautiful red species with the darkest red centers. I used that as my "coloring inspiration". The stamped panel is cut out with Spellbinders and layered on a panel of SU DP from last years Ski Slope collection. The red panel is punched with an EK Success edge punch. The card is finished with a red satin bow and Kaiser pearls in the corners.
Copics Used: R43, R46, R59, G40, G82, G85

Your Couch or Mine?

I made this card on friday night for the Weekend Sketch Challenge #94 found here on Beate's blog. The stamp set is "On My Couch" by Papertrey Ink. Love this set! Just don't ask me how many times I inked up the couch before I got it right :) The set comes with an outline of a couch that you can stamp and then paper piece. The couch in the photo below is not paper pieced! (that would have been too easy...) I stamped the patterned couch (comes in the set) and then stamped the outlined couch over top. The stamps are clear so it does not take too much precision to layer the images. I just had to "experiment" several times before it came together. The couch is shaded with Copics and then cut out and popped up to give a little dimension. I even pulled out my "Hello Kitty" Janome sewing machine (which had collected a good layer of dust...) and added some zig zag stitching! The sentiment is punched with the SU Modern Label Punch and then Chocolate Chip cardstock was punched twice and placed on the back and ends trimmed.

Victoria Case for SCACD!

Today is the New Release of the Hearts and Hugs Collection Series #2 by Victoria Case for SCACD Stamp Company!!! Just click here to go to her website. As a member of Victoria's Design Team, I had the opportunity to work with two of the stamps in this collection prior to their release. They are the cutest!! This first card is made with the stamp, "Aud". I just love her outfit with the boots and purse. She is one Fashionista!! Aud is colored with Copics. All of the DP is from the DCWV Citrus Stack. The scallop edges were done with a MS border punch. The layout for this card is from this weeks SCS Sketch Challenge.
Copics Used: RV11, E11, E17, E51, Y13, Y15, C00, B0000, B21, Y0000, YR02
This next card is made with the rubber stamp "Susy". She is so adorable with her Teddy Bear! When I first saw this stamp all I could think of was "warm and fuzzy". Since she is hugging her bear to her chest, I thought the sentiment, "Sending you hugs" was appropriate for this card. Suzy is colored with Copics, cut out and layered on Spellbinders scallop circles. I added touches of Liquid Pearls to her collar, cuffs and shoes. All of the DP is from Basic Grey Urban Prairie. (just love that paper!!) The sentiment is computer generated.
Copics Used: RV0000, RV11, C00, Y11, Y13, Y15, E21, E33, E51, BG01

New Digis from Victoria Case Art Designs!

I have two projects for you today using Victoria's new schoolkids. Just in time for "Back To School"!! Check out all the other kids at Victoria's Stamp Blog or in her store. The first is "B for Ben". Isn't he a cutie?! The backpack box goes perfectly with him. You can find the tutorial and downloadable template here on Splitcoaststampers. Ben is colored with Copics and layered on a card using a sketch from last weeks SCS sketch challenge. The paper is Over the Moon Press by EK Success. I have really been digging in my paper stash and finding some oldies but goodies to use! Other paper is Handsome Hunter and Kraft. The sentiment is computer generated and punched with the Modern Label punch.
( Click on Photos To Enlarge)
Copics Used~ G21, G24, E09, E17, E00, E21 The second project today is an altered composition book and a backpack tag using "C is for Carlie". Carlie is a cutesy teen and she just begged for bright and fun colors! You can find the tutorial for the Altered Composition Book here on SCS. Carlie is colored with Copics and cut out and layered with Spellbinders. The paper for the book and backpack tag are from Two Busy Moms. (Another oldie but goodie!). For the binding I layered a piece of white paper (with the holes already in it) over the pink. The pink loop strip ws done with a MS border punch. The flowers are cardstock punch outs that match the paper. Buttons were added to each. The backpack tag is made with a 4" round coaster. The paper was cut and layered on the coaster using Mod Podge. After it dried, the edges were sanded and another layer of Mod Podge applied to the top and bottom. Carlie was punched with a SU scallop circle punch and layered on a cardstock punch out flower. The hole for the chain was made with a Crop-a-dile.

Tiny Bubbles....Make Me Feel Fine!

The bubbles are just not in the "wine"! This card is for today's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge. Today the challenge is titled "Will it amuse you to know?" and the featured stamper is Stamp Muse. Her cards are a great assortment of different styles and techniques. I chose this card to CASE. (copy and share everything). My new Bubble Bunny Flopsey from MFT was the stamp pick today. "She" is colored with Copics and cut out. I kept the card layout the same as Stamp Muse's except for the image panel is square instead of round. The DP is a change as well as the colors. The bubbles were covered with Cotton Candy Stickles or Glossy accents. This was such a fun card to make!
Click Photo to Enlarge
I see a lot of cardmakers are now finishing the inside of their card to match the outside. Takes a little more time and materials but it gives the card a little more of a special touch. Supplies: Stamps: MFT Bubble Bunny Paper: Making Memories Cosmopolitan DP, Bazzil French Vanilla Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa Accessories: Copics R0000,R00,E21, E29, Spellbinders, Fiber Ribbon, Cotton Candy Stickles, Glossy Accents, Pop Dots Enjoy!

Wish You Were Here!

( Click On Photo To Enlarge)
This card was one I completed for a Paper Chef's Mini VSN back in July on Splitcoast. The Challenge was called "Wilted Lettuce". We were to use shades of green and beige as a neutral. No other colors! The other two requirements were that the card stock needed to be crinkled and the sentiment needed to be in Italian. Whew!! A lot to do in a 45 minute time frame!! (When you participate in VSN challenges, you have 45 minutes to complete your card) I crinkled the Creamy Caramel card stock square and then stamped the Flourishes image on it. The edges are sponged with Handsome Hunter. The sentiment panel was crinkled also and the sentiment "Wish you were here" was computer generated. Supplies: Stamps: Flourishes Beach Life Paper: Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel Ink: Handsome Hunter Accessories: Brads, Pop Dots, Sponge Dauber Enjoy!

Little Princess for Thursday's Challenge

Happy Thursday!! It is challenge time with Victoria Case Art Designs! This weeks challenge is to use the colors Light Green, Black and White. I chose Victoria's digi image "Girl and Puppy" to work with. She is colored with Copics. Sure do love the new colors that are so very light. Makes it easy to get the highlight your looking for. There are touches of Liquid Pearls on her collar, sleeves, bodice and socks. Just couldn't resist putting spots on the puppy! The paper is from DCWV paper stacks and the black paper with all the little girls sayings was perfect. The image is cut out with a Scallop Oval Nestabilitie and a pretty white satin bow added to the bottom. Copics Used: R00, E11, E33, E51, G0000, G02, BG0000, YR0000, C00, C1, C3 Please come join in the challenge!! You have until next Wed to post. In Sympathy and Friendship....

I haven't participated in the daily challenges on Splitcoast for a while so I was determined to do one of my favorites, the Saturday Inspiration Challenge, today. The website "Bellacor" and their vases were to be our inspiration. I saw this vase and knew exactly what I wanted to do. Out came my new Papertrey Ink set, Everyday Button Bits! On a recent shopping jaunt I found buttons galore on clearance at Joann's. I am talking 25 and 50 cents a card!! These buttons caught my eye and I knew they would be perfect with the trees in this stamp set. The thread on the buttons is white crochet cotton that I went over with a Copic Marker to get the right color to match the card colors. The colors in the vase (browns and greens) were used for the papers and ribbons. The sentiment is computer generated.
(Click on the picture to enlarge)
The layout for this card is this weeks Weekend Sketch Challenge #92 found here and hosted by Sharon Harnist. The StampinB Challenge #18 this week, hosted by Joanne Grzelak, is to make a masculine sympathy card. I don't have a lot of masculine cards in my stash and have no sympathy cards. Thought this would be a good opportunity to make a card and use a theme that I usually don't think about doing. Supplies: Stamps: Papertrey Ink Everyday Button Bits Paper: White, PTI Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey Infuse Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Handsome Hunter Accessories: Nestabilities Label 4, Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Buttons, Crochet Cotton, Copic E33 Enjoy!

A "Witchy" VCAD Challenge Thursday!

Time for the Victoria Case Thursday challenge and today it is a Sketch. Just love doing sketch challenges!!

I know that it is only the first week of August but I have been seeing Halloween items showing up across blogland and the new PaperCrafts magazine arrived with Halloween creations all over the cover! My daughter, Vanessa, loved Halloween as she was growing up. Each year we found new ways to decorate the yard. She is very artistic and imaginative, so it was not unusual to see a mini graveyard in the front yard complete with headstones with funny sayings, and life size "glow in the dark" skeletons hanging from the large tulip poplar tree. One year we had a six foot Alien standing at the front door. He gave me a jolt every time I pulled in the driveway! The best one was a homemade three foot coffin sitting beside the front door with a skeleton laying in it. It was rigged with fishing line so that when the kids rang the bell and we opened the door, the skeleton sat straight up in the coffin. We had more laughs that year!! All in good fun..... On to my card for this challenge! I used Victoria's digital stamp, "Winter" and turned her into a witch by changing the colors of her clothing and adding a witches hat to the top of her head. The spider web panel is made with the new Martha Stewart punches. (a corner punch and a border punch combo- called "Punch Around the Page"). Love these!! Click on photo to enlarge

Supplies: Paper: Black, Only Orange, KI Memories "Spooky" Accessories: Copics E00, E33, E51, YR61, YR65, YR68, YG06, R22, C1, W5, 100, Pilot Gold Marker, Coluzzle Ovals, Chalks, MS Punches, Rhinestone, Ribbon, Witches Spells book by Jolee's Please come join in the challenge!! You have until next Wed to post. If you do not have a Victoria Case rubber stamp or image, you can email her and she will send you a free digital stamp to play with in the challenge. The winner of the weekly challenge is given a guest designer spot in an upcoming Thursday challenge. Can't wait to see the entries!! Enjoy!

Lovingly Sheltered

(Click on the picture to enlarge)
I have combined two challenges with this card! The first challenge is "Pile It On" sponsored by Soft Pencil. The theory behind Pile It On! "is to create cards, scrapbook pages or even altered items using MORE THAN ONE challenge! We have found it to be a challenge to see how many challenges we could get into one project." This weeks challenge is to put at least three flowers on your card and of course combine challenges. Since the challenge is sponsored by Soft Pencil, I chose Elizabeth's image, "I'll keep you safe- michu". The image is colored with Copics and cut out with a Scallop Oval Nestie. The edges were sponged with Close to Cocoa and then RicRac attached to the outer edge. The Cameo Coral and Close to Cocoa paper are embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder that has flowers in it. Three prima flowers were added to "the pile" of flowers. The second challenge is this week's Splitcoaststampers Color Combo challenge, "Certainly Cocoa Blossoms". Colors to use: Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral and White. Enjoy!

Inky Impressions 2nd Design Team Call

The call is in full swing and the deadline is tonight at midnight EST!! I decided to give the call a go. The submission requires a card and a non-card using coloring techniques. The Inky Impressions stamps are so much fun to work with. Especially for a girl like me that loves to color!! My card submission is Angelica Daydream. She is so sweet and I would love to know what she is daydreaming about! She is colored with Copics and cut out. The DP is Imaginisce Twitterpated and the solid is SU Rose Red. The panel that Angelica is sitting on is cut and embossed from a Spellbinders Frameabilitie and then airbrushed with the frame still in place. The white border strip at the bottom is cut out with a MS border punch. Little Kaiser half pearls adorn the center of each flower and the corners of the middle panel. What would a card be without a big satin bow! The middle panel and Angelica are popped up for some added dimension. Copics Used: BG0000, BG10, BG13, R00, R43, R46, E00, E33, E51

(Click on Images for a larger view)

This is a close up of lovely Angelica.

For my non-card submission, I pulled out one of my recent projects that is a favorite. The image is Robot Heart by Victoria Case Art Designs. You can find him in an earlier blog post with all the details for making him and the mini pizza box.
If you want to see some awesome submissions for the Design Team call, head on over to the Inky Impressions Challenge Blog. They are all there in Mr. Linky. Enjoy!

Christmas Card Challenges

You can click on the picture to enlarge!
I am behind in posting for the July Christmas Card Challenge on Splitcoaststampers, so I am playing "catch up" today on several things. It is so nice to make cards throughout the year so that when the holidays come there is no last minute rush to get them done. (I am sure I will find something that will involve a last minute rush anyway!!) The sketch used for the cards is from the Card Set Challenge #2 posted a few days ago. I turned the sketch clockwise one turn for the layout. The DP is by Heidi Grace Designs called Jolly and Bright. It is a shimmer/glitter paper and the holly leaves are embossed. Beautiful to work with! The stamp set is one of my all time favorites, Scandinavian Season, by SU. The trees are stamped with Melon Mambo and Kiwi Kiss. The ribbon is the new SU dotted Melon Mambo. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to The Greeting Farm!!

The Greeting Farm is ONE Year Old today!! So to celebrate we are having a "HAPPY ANYAVERSARY" Blog Hop starting at 9am CST! That is like, RIGHT NOW!! There are over 80 blogs on the hop, so like Marie says "grab a chair, a snack, and happy hopping!" For the Blog Hop we were to make a birthday themed card or project. I chose one of the Wild Sprouts, "Dahlia", to help celebrate this special day. She is colored with Copics and cut out. I believe she thinks she lives in Florida with me because her face is looking a little "tanned". The card is actually a "Flower Pot Pocket Card". The instructions can be found here on Splitcoaststampers resource page. I changed the dimensions of the card a little to accommodate Dahlia and her flowers. The paper on the flower pot is from the DCWV Sweet Stack and SU Pink Passion embossed with the CB Swiss Dot folder. The flowers were cut from a DP by Me&My Bigideas called Dandelion. If you click on the picture to make it bigger you can see the Star Dust Stickles on the flower center in her hair and the Baby Blue Stickles on the bottom trim of her dress. This is the card with the center panel pulled out from the flower pot.
Is she not the cutest thing?
I hope you enjoyed your stop here and to keep on hopping you will need to return to The Greeting Farm or Club Anya Blog(s) for the next link in your journey. Make sure and leave comments along the way!!
Enjoy!
