"New Release Digis" from Victoria Case

Victoria is releasing Holiday themed digis today! Check out all of them here. I decided to use this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for my card. Love the sketches that they put out each week! I also wanted to participate in this weeks Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge since the only requirement was to use a Snowman on your card. I have quite a few snowmen stamps. They always bring a smile! This digi is called "Snow Friends". Isn't he adorable? The background DP is from Rusty Pickle's Snowflake and Mittens. I colored the image with Copics and added Sugar Coating White glitter to his hat and Crystal Effects to the hearts. He is cut out using a coluzzle and then matted with a Kiwi Kiss circle scallop nestie. The sentiment is cut out with a SU Word Window punch and matted. The swirl candies are from my "stash box" of items I have collected over the years with the intent of "using them someday". Someday is today!
Copics Used: BG0000, BG01, R08, R27,YG23, E21, E33, YR02

Tea Time Dare

The "Dare To Get Dirty" Challenges on SCS this weekend have been going strong! I started this card for the "Happy Stamper Sketch Challenge" hosted by Cindy and as my card came together I used DeborahLynneS challenge to use texture by using a CB Swiss Dot folder for the brown background panel. Of course I could not resist Becca's challenge to "Cut It Out!!" and used the Scallop Circle Nestabilities to cut out my Teapot and the background circle. Last but not least the finishing touch was to do Laurie's challenge to "Tie One On!" by adding some really pretty champagne colored satin ribbon. I love this Papertrey Ink stamp set! There are several teapot images and lots of sentiments to go with in the set. Supplies: Stamps: PTI Tea for Two Paper: PTI Sweet Blush and Dark Chocolate, Bazzil French Vanilla, GinaK Ivory, Basic Grey Infuse DP Ink: Brilliance Pearlescent Coral Accessories: Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Paper Piercer, Ribbon, Kaiser Pearls, Sponge dauber Enjoy!

Outlined Swiss Cheese

Last Friday there was a Paper Chef Mini VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) on SCS. I made this card for the "Swiss Cheese Please!" challenge. We were to get creative with an old tool called a "hole punch". You know... the kind we used to use as kids to punch holes in paper to put in a binder/notebook (before they had a three hole punch....maybe showing my age here???) I pulled out some old favorite stamps...from Outlines Rubber Stamp Company. This is their Zen Flower. Stamped and cut the flower twice and punched holes on the tips, in the middle, on the leaves and the flower pot. What a fun challenge!! Supplies: Stamps: Outlines Zen Flower, Leaf, Flower Pot and Stem, Itty Bitty Backgrounds Paper: Marvelous Magenta, Brocade Blue, Bliss Blue Ink: Orchid Opulence, Brocade Blue, Versamark Accessories: Hole Punches, Clear Embossing Powder Enjoy!

"Dare To Get Dirty" Kicks Off Today!

The Dare To Get Dirty 09 started today. This is the opportunity to hang out with the SCS Dirty Dozen Team, participate in challenges and share your artwork with them. My card was for Michelle's challenge, "For The Boys". The card had to be masculine and you had to use the 1,2,3 recipe. One piece of patterned paper, two stamps, and three colors (not including neutrals). I don't do a lot of masculine cards but have bought a couple of stamp sets recently so that I can. This card is made using GinaK's Guiding Light set. The anchor and wheel are stamped on GinaK's ivory pure luxury cardstock. On the Kiwi Kiss panel, the wheel is stamped with Versamark ink. The DP is from DCWV Citrus Stack. For the three colors, I chose Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie and Taken With Teal. Three black brads and a knotted piece of hemp finish the card.

Check out the challenges over on Splitcoast. They are bound to be a lot of fun!!

This card also fits this weeks SCS Sketch Challenge found here.

Enjoy!

It is Victoria Case Challenge Thursday again!! This week it is the sketch shown below.
I chose Victoria's rubber stamp "Ella" to work with this week. She is sooooo adorable!! I colored her with Copics and added Flower Soft to the flowers all around. I struggled a little with the four background panels and ended up with simplicity, adding four round mosaic stickers.
Supplies:
Stamps~ Victoria Case Art Designs "Ella"
Ink~ Black Memento
Paper~ Flourishes Classic Cardstock, Bashful Blue, Bazzil White, DCWV Nana's Kids Stack
Supplies~ Nestabilities, Mosaic stickers, Flower Soft, Copics YG03, YG91, YG93, C1, C3, C7, RV11, RV14

Mousey Mojo!

I started this card for this week's House Mouse Monday Challenge #46 and in looking for a layout for my card, decided to use this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #95.
The House Mouse challenge was to use "NO COLORING". Wow...how do you make a card without Copics?? I decided to give the Copics a rest and take the challenge!
This is the Mojo Monday sketch.

Out came "Party Mouse Monica" to grace the front of a fun birthday card. She is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. The layers are made with Scallop Oval Nestabilities. The card base is French Vanilla Bazzill and the DP is from DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy Stack. It just wouldn't be a party without a colorful party hat! This was paper pieced with the DP. The sentiment is from The Greeting Farm "Happy Chef" set. I love the handwriting font on the sentiments in this set and use them often. Some fun ric rac added to the bottom DP panel is the final touch.
Enjoy!

New Release~ ROBOT HEART

Victoria Case Art Designs is releasing this new rubber stamp today!! This stamped image is so versatile. It is appropriate for any gender and any age!! I have two projects to show you today using this rubber stamp. The first is a card with a feminine touch. Something a man would give to the special lady in his life. Robot Heart is colored with Copics then layered with Nestabilities dies. The background paper is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. Isn't that paper just dreamy?? To stay with the gray robot theme and to pull out some of the gray in the paper, I decided to cut Nestabilitie flowers out of metallic silver cardstock and add a little bling with a glittery pink brad in the center. The sentiment is computer generated.

Copics Used: B21, B34, R46, C3, W1, W5, atYou Spica Red

My second project for Robot Heart is on the masculine side. I decided to do a mini pizza box as the box is just the right size for gift cards for boys and men alike. The embossed foil background technique was on my list of "to do's", so this was the perfect opportunity to try it as well! The box is made with Bazzil Great Lakes paper. It is the most beautiful shade of blue! So...Robot Heart is colored with Copics in blue tones and cut out. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a Nestabilitie. Kaiser pewter pearls were added to the corners and the sentiment for a little more "metal" effect. The rivets on the heart are done with a silver metallic pen. Add a brad to the front with another pewter pearl in the middle and it's finished!

The two pictures below show the box in the making. You can find the instructions for the mini pizza box on Splitcoaststampers here.
The embossed foil background is fairly easy. Use "heavy duty" aluminum foil. For this project I used the Cuttlebug "Traffic" embossing folder. In the picture you will see another piece using the "Swirls" folder. The white frame is cut out using stacked square Nestabilities. Adhere to the top of the embossed foil being careful not to press out any of the foil image. Place on the top of the box. Add the cut out Robot and sentiment and your done!
Copics Used: B00, B24, B32, RV14, RV17, C3, C1

It's a VCAD Color Challenge Thursday!

This little girl is the cutest thing!! She is a recent digital release from Victoria Case Art Designs called "Just Ducky". The challenge today is to use the colors Orange, Dark Pink and White. Not a hard one for me because these are colors that I love to put together. So bright and fun, warm and cuddly, summery....get my drift??? I never tire of warm (or hot) weather and all the summer fun activities! Just Ducky is colored with Copics. I am still mastering the new paper I am working with from Flourishes. It is their Classic White Cardstock specially formulated for using Copics. It has a blending quality totally different from the cardstock I was previously using. I have to be really careful about the ink spreading outside the stamp lines. But, I have to say it brings out the color of the markers beautifully. Don't you think they just jump right out at you?

I used a Coluzzle oval to cut out the image and layered it on a Pink Passion Nestabilitie Scallop Oval. This was then layered on paper cut with the SU Top Note Die. The DP is from the K&Co Que Sera Sera collection. The sentiment is from TGF Down by the Pond set and the finishing touch is a glittery ribbon from MFT.

I hope you will join in the challenge! If you do not have any Victoria Case Stamps, check out her website and email a request for one of the free ones she usually has available. Also if you participate, you will have the opportunity to be picked as one of the monthly guest designers. Lets see those creations!! Link your creation to the VC Stamp Challenge Blog. Copics used: YR00, YR02, E00, E11, Y000, Y11, Y21, C1, B00, RV14 Enjoy!

One Tall Malt!

This card is made with one of Victoria Case Art Designs recently released digital stamps, "Giraffe Malt". Is she not the cutest giraffe you have ever seen?! The image is colored with Copics. I just had to make the foam on the top of the malt with liquid applique. The giraffe tail got a little too! The DP is from DCWV Nana's Kids Stack. Also used SU Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery.

Victoria has new rubber stamp releases coming up soon as well as some new digital stamps around July 20th. Keep an eye out! You will not be disappointed!

Enjoy!

Chasing Fireflies Inspiration

I finally got to participate in the SCS Inspiration Challenge today!! The website for our inspiration was "Chasing Fireflies". Lots of nice things! My inspiration came from this mini lavender garden. The Target dollar spot is one of my favorite places to shop and at the beginning of summer I had found these tin containers and bought a couple of them. There are grooves on the inside so I cut my paper to fit, notched the ends with a circle punch and sponged the edges. I inked up my Flourishes Nasturtium set for the first time and colored the image with Copics. A few packets of Nasturtiums and a pair of garden gloves on the inside would make a nice gift for a gardner friend!
This project also fits the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge to "cut it out and pop it up" as well as the Shabby Chicks Monthly Challenge to use something that comes from nature on your card/project.
Supplies: Stamps: Flourishes Nasturtiums Paper: Flourishes Classic White Ink: Memento Black Accessories: CopicsYR02, YR04, YR09, YG00, YG03, YG23, Y13, Circle Punch, Ribbon, Pop Dots, Tin Container, Wonder Tape

It's Challenge Thursday with Victoria Case Art Designs!!

This weeks challenge is the Sketch shown here.
I chose to use Victoria's Stork for my card. He (or is it a she...?) is colored with Copics. I found some paper in my cabinet from Creative Memories that was perfect for this card. Baby yellows, blues and greens! The green and blue top panels were embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The felt buttons are from Hero Arts Fancy Felt collection.
The reason I did this card was because I had an idea for a gift box that I have been wanting to make for quite some time now. The tutorial is on the Scor-pal website as an Ornament Box. I kept the same dimensions as in the tutorial. The paper and felt buttons used on the box is the same as that on the card.
Add some baby goodies like powder, shampoo and lotions and you have a nice little gift set for an expectant or new mom!
Copics Used: B00, B02, E00, E02, Y11, Y15, YG03, YG93, RV14
Come on and join in the challenge!! If you do not have any Victoria Case stamps/images you can email a request to Victoria at the link above and request one of her free ones. She has a new one "Bunnyfly" which is absolutely adorable!! If you participate in the challenge you also have the chance to be a weekly Guest Designer. Details on the Challenge Blog!

Great Catch, Ian!!

This card is for yesterday's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge "B-Gin-R". In going through Sandra's gallery to choose a card I saw that she likes a lot of the same stamps that I do. I chose her card found here. I started with the same layout and as I made my card it evolved into something totally different than my beginning thoughts! I changed the image, colors and embellishments. This card also fits this weeks StampinB's challenge to use metal on your card. Ian's fishing pole is a large paper clip (straightened) and colored with a black sharpie. The fishing line is fine weight crochet thread. I used a real fishing hook and brass snap swivel to hold the sentiment. The netting is from GinaK. Supplies: Stamps: TGF Rock the Farm Paper: Basic Grey Lime Rickey, Yo Yo Yellow, Bazzil White Ink: Memento Black Accessories: Copics B00, B02, B05,YR65, YR68, YG06, YG09, Y21,E00, E21, E17,100, Copic Airbrush, Fishing Hardware, Nestabilities Scallop Circles Enjoy!

Ollie is colored with Copics. The sky background was airbrushed using the Copic Airbrush system. The print paper is from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack. Two Challenges for Kayla

This card is for today's SCS Limited Supply Challenge and this weeks Copic Creations Challenge #7. For the Limited Supply Challenge we were to use Digis and Diecuts...no stamps and no more than two embellishments. I chose one of Victoria Case's new digis "Kayla". She is wonderful to color! For the diecuts, I used the Nestabilities Label Four set. The paper is from the DCWV Citrus Stack as well as the chipboard sticker. I hand wrote "hello" on the chipboard. She has Stardust Stickles on her wings. For the Copic Creations Challenge we were to color "brunette hair". This is my attempt at some new Copic color combinations as well as some new paper (Classic White Cardstock) from Flourishes.

Victoria Case Challenge Thursday!

It is Thursday again and I made it back from Vegas last night just in time to finish a card for today's challenge!
The challenge this week is to use the colors Red, Black and Kraft. I had Victoria's "The Stray" rubber stamp that needed inked up, so out it came for this challenge. This image is adorable and can be used for so many types of cards. If you are an animal lover this stamp just speaks to you! How many times have we just wanted to squeeze our pets and shower them with love!!
I colored the image with Copics and layered it with the challenge colors. The print paper is from the DCWV Pets Stack. The finishing touch was Kaiser red half pearls placed in the corners.
Check out Victoria's Challenge Blog for other cards from the Design Team. If you do not have VC stamps or images, you can get Tara or Willie FREE! Just send an email request to Victoria. I hope you will join in the challenge!
Enjoy!
