Sweet Treat Inspired

I have been in Fort Lauderdale for the past three days for work and now that I am home, I have some catching up to do with posting!! This card was for Saturdays SCS Inspiration Challenge "Little Odd Forest". I was amazed at the unique and different purses on this website! I chose this purse/wristlet for my inspiration. I was going to do a card with flowers and use the colors in the purse, but somehow I ended up with Ice Cream!! Must be that I am wishing for sunshine and cool treats!! I used the colors in the purse for the ice cream colors, coloring with Copics and adding Crystal Effects to the chocolate syrup, cherry and the sundae glass. Now all that I need is a little SUNSHINE!

Recipe: Stamps: SU Sweet Treats, TGF Happy Chef (sentiment) Paper: GinaK White, Mint Melody, Rose Red, Petals and Paisley DP Ink: Black Accessories: Copics G02, Y11, Y13, R00, RV11, R29, E29, C1, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Crystal Effects Enjoy!

Limited Mermaid Anya

This card was for Friday's SCS Limited Supply Challenge "Circle of Life". We were to think "circular" and could only use one stamp set on the card. My daughter was learning to use Copics this past weekend and she colored Mermaid Anya. I then did some shading and touch up on her. Don't we make a great team? The Limited Supply challenge was the right opportunity to use her. The cardstock circle she is popped up on was cut with a scallop circle Nestabilitie and embossed with a Cuttlebug Swirl embossing folder. The edges were sponged with Tempting Turquoise ink and green Art Glitter was added to a few of the swirls. The background DP is from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack. The card was finished off with a couple of K&Co adhesive gems and some scrumptious green satin ribbon and bow.

Enjoy!

Special Times With Family and Friends

It does not seem like it has been a week since we went to Tennessee. I planned this visit because it was the weekend after Mothers Day and the weekend before my Mom's Birthday. I actually had the camera with me this time! Here are a few pictures from our short visit. First on our agenda was Ryan's (nephew) graduation from Bearden High School. What a character!! He will be leaving next month for the Marines. We wish him all the best!

Bud (my brother) Ryan Tricia

Jordan (Ryan's older brother) and Ryan

On Friday Bill got a phone call from our friend Nick, wanting him to drill a new bowling ball. Nick was really surprised when Bill told him that we were in Knoxville for the weekend. We met up with him at the Exxon and a conversation ensued about drilling the ball, right in the parking lot of the gas station. Talk about service!! Yes we brought the bowling ball to Florida and it has been drilled up and is on its way back to Nick today!! Hope you roll another 300 Nick!

On Saturday I worked Virtual Stamp Night on Splitcoaststampers as one of the Hostesses. Gotta love computers. You can work virtually anywhere!! (no pun intended....) Saturday night was family time spent with my Mom, Dad, Vanessa and Bill.

Sunday afternoon started out with shopping and then Vanessa, Bill and I met up with a couple of good friends for dinner.

Viva Las VSN Main Event

What a jam packed weekend I had!! On Friday we kicked off Virtual Stamp Night "Viva Las VSN" on Splitcoaststampers. It was a big hit. I was the hostess for the Bingo challenge on Saturday afternoon. The challenge was to make a card using a grid technique. Since daubers are used to play bingo, you also had to do a sponging technique on your card as well. This card was one of my sample cards for the challenge. The stamp image is from Pink Cat Studio's Sweet Pea Collection and is colored with Copics. The dots on the planter are filled with Glossy Accents. I cut out Sweet Pea and popped her up on a Nestibilitie scallop circle. The grid panel was done with a template and sponged with chalks. The green panel was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. A double ribbon bow and a diaper pin finish it off!

Release of the Hearts and Hugs Collection!

Victoria Case and Susana of SCACD teamed up and collaborated on an exclusive line of stamps for Susana's shop. Today is release day for the Victoria Case "Hearts and Hugs Collection" exclusively for SCACD! There are nine stamps in the collection. I worked with two stamps in the collection, "Nuts for You" and "Forever Friends". These stamps are absolutely adorable! "Nuts for You" is colored with Copics. The sky is chalked using a cloud template. The flowers are glittered with an atYou Spica pen. (Still have a hard time catching that sparkle on film!) The image panel is cut using a Nestabilities large square scallop and then paper pierced. The papers are from DCWV Butterflies and Blossoms Stack.

"Forever Friends" was stamped on watercolor paper and colors applied with an aquapainter. Whenever I see ladybugs I automatically reach for the red, yellow and black and white polka dot papers! The yellow panel was punched at the bottom with a MS lace border punch. With the ribbon I added a couple of felt ladybugs and a flower from the K&Co Wild Saffron collection.

Want to see the other seven images? Follow the links above to Victoria's or Susana's blogs. Don't you just love new releases?!

Red Rock Canyon

On our trip to Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago we took a drive up to Red Rock Canyon. It is just on the outskirts of Vegas along the east side of the Spring Mountains. From the "American Southwest website" they state....The flat land rises to a great colorful escarpment, formed along a fault zone (the Keystone Thrust) with peaks over 8,000 feet, and includes huge cliffs and ravines composed of bands of grey, white and red sandstone that are heavily eroded. At the base of the cliffs in the open plains, we saw a lot of Joshua trees, Yucca plants, cactus and even found little flowers blooming in oranges and yellows.
The next two pictures are of Calico Hills right where you start your trek on the Scenic Loop.
I think this next one is Rainbow Mountain. If you catch the sun hitting it just right the striations look like a rainbow.
This last picture is of rock formations that were absolutely fascinating!
I love Nevada! Even if it is mostly brown!!

SCS Featured Stamper DbDoodle

This card was for Sunday's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge~ "Dazzle and Delight at Debbie's Doodles"~I chose this card from her gallery as my inspiration. I pretty much kept the same layout as Deb's card and changed the stamp set and colors.

Isn't Flutter Anya sweet? She is colored with Copics and placed on a beautiful paper from the Blossoms and Butterflies stack from DCWV. I went over the outside of her wings with an atYou clear spica pen, but it is hard to capture the sparkle on camera. The little butterflies are punched from silver metallic paper.

Card Recipe Stamps: TGF Flutter Anya Paper: DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies Stack, Chocolate Chip, GinaK White Ink: Black Memento, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Copics B21, B32, E31, E51, RV11, C1, E57, atYou Spica clear, Scallop Border Punch, MS Butterfly Punch, Circle Punches, Nestabilities Label One, Ribbon

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 85

I have been keeping a list of challenges (a long one I might add!) as I am"blurfing" (another word for blog surfing....). I really liked the Mojo Monday sketch this week and decided to participate. This card was also used for this weeks SCS Limited Supply Challenge.
This is the Mojo Monday Sketch
Victoria Case Art Designs has recently released some of her digital stamp images in rubber. My favorite Lovebirds is one of them! The Lovebirds are stamped with Memento Black ink on GinaK Pure Luxury 120lb paper. (The best combination I have found so far for coloring with Copics). The background papers are from Imaginisce Twitterpated Critter Chatter. This paper is so cute and fun to work with! The white panels are matted with Real Red. I cut some of the little flowers from the DSP and placed metal nail heads in the center and on the background. Added some sparkling ribbon to top things off.

Enjoy!!

VSN Butterfly Beema

This card was for the VSN Surprise Challenge, Bellie Up To The Buffet . This challenge was a Surprise Challenge as Jen Balcer and Lori Craig showed up to host! Here is part of their post. Bellie up to the Buffet! Grab yourself: a main dish entree - favorite stamps set a couple of side items - cardstock and ink and head straight the dessert cart, girls. Feast your eyes on this:
That's right, an open buffet of embellishments. We're going wild with the desserts... Our challenge to you is to choose at least 3 dessert items from the list and have at it. Show us what you've got when there are no calories to contend with. Buttons Brads Glitter Dew Drops Punches Sewing Ribbon Eyelets Rhinestones Die Cuts, Whatever you can think of . . . . Accessorize it, baby! For my card I used Victoria Case Art Designs "Beema". Beema is stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Stampin Up inks and an aquapainter. The circle scalloped Nesties were popped up on top of Paper Studio print paper. Isn't that paper lovely? The colors are so vibrant! The bottom of the papers are punched with a MS border punch. Rhinestones were added to the borders as well as the little MS butterfly punches. The addition of sparkle green ribbon and a bow finish it off. Please leave me comments. I love hearing from you!
