Beach Vacation

I completed this project for two reasons.
1. My daughter, Vanessa, was coming to spend her weeks vacation with me and I know how much she enjoys the beach and pictures. A small scrapbook album of her favorite beach activities was in order.
2. The Greeting Farm was having a Summer Gardner design team call and I wanted to post a submission for their consideration.
One of my goals for 2009 was to use my Pazzles machine. I had purchased it in November of last year when it was on clearance at AC Moore. I found a picture of a scallop page that I liked, re- sized it, vectorized it (another new thing for me...) and began cutting out. I was amazed at this machine just cutting away from a picture on my computer screen!! Absolutely Awesome!!
I used Summer Girl Scrapbook Kit by Me and My Big Ideas to cover the chipboard pages and sponged the edges with metallic gold ink. The spiral binding was done with a Bind It All machine.
Front Cover

The layered flowers are from Prima with a K&Co Adhesive Gem in the center. Beach is spelled out with rub on letters from Scrapworks. "Vacation" is sticker letters I found on my recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale. Ribbons were added on the binding in colors to match the album.

First Pages

Margaritas are a favorite at our house so I brought out Chef Ian and dressed him up in tropical color clothing. He has a Martini on his tray but we can pretend right?? The large drink and little fruit stickers are from the K&Co line Citronella. Yummy!!

Second Pages

Vanessa loves to collect lei's, so Hula Anya was next up in the album. She is colored with Copics and her hair is adorned with silk flowers with rhinestone centers. The white panel behind her is cut with a Label Four Nestabilitie. The pink paper strips are cut with a SU scallop border punch and then pierced. Yellow grosgrain ribbon and bow was added to the top of the strips.

Third Pages

One of Vanessa's desires is to learn how to surf. While she was here she spent a lot of time at a local surf shop! Surfer Ian was perfect for the next pages of the album. He is colored with Copics and popped up on waves that were cut from the paper in the kit. I used an Inkssentials pen on the tips of the waves and added some glitter with an atYou Spica clear pen. The picture frames are all Nestabilitie scallop circles. The lettering is rub-ons from Scrapworks. Isn't Ian just adorable?

Fourth Pages

Mermaid Anya was saved for last in this album. Pictures of the beach and swimming in the ocean will go here. The fish are from The Greeting Farm set Down By The Pond. All are colored with Copics and popped up with pop dots. The felt "seaweed" stickers are from K&Co. The bubbles are Rain Dots from Cloud 9. Mermaid Anya's hair is adorned with rhinestones and she is surrounded by Prima flowers with glittered brad centers. Enjoy!

Peggy - the album is awesome and I'm sure Vanessa will love it! Kinda reminds me of when I would scrapbook when the boys were little. I planned field trips/activities around scrapbook embellishments! LOL!! Now you'll have to plan Vanessa's trip around her pages! :-)

Ugh, I can't even remember when I last went on a vacation, but my dream is to take a Bahamas family vacation when the kids get a little older.
