Oceans of Love

Happy Tuesday!!

This week has gotten off to a "weather event" start. Hurricane force wind gusts, golf ball size hail, tornado's, and even a train blown off an elevated track just down the road. All of this starting as we were having a meeting at work about disaster planning...

My card today is for this weeks SCS Color Combination Challenge~ Under the Soft Sky, the Blushing Bride, eats Crumb Cake. Love that catchy challenge title! Dessert is Crabby (beachy), Shabby (chic), or Fabby (anything else).

I have been wanting to use this stamp for quite some time. I miss coloring and this set was a lot of fun to work with.

The layout is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #183.
Come on over and join in the challenges!
Enjoy!

Crazy4Challenges~ Birds!

Happy Saturday!!

I made it back from Orlando and the HCCA Compliance Conference. Long days but I racked up some CEU's!

Lynn is finishing up this month with Crazy4Challenges. She says...
"Since today is World Penguin Day and tomorrow is National Go Birding Day, lets create a card or project using some type of bird."

A few weeks ago I went to the Audubon Zoo with my daughter and the very first exhibit was flamingos. These are a Caribbean Flamingo. More coral than pink. They are beautiful!

I love flamingos and I love the SU set Flamingo Lingo. With each set sold SU donates three dollars to the Ronald McDonald House.  So here is my card for National Go Birding Day!

If you decide to play along with us upload your card/project to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C283. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz on the Crazy4Challenges Blog, so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

Shabby Chic~ Julie Nutting Prima Doll Journal Page

Happy Tuesday!
Having a good week?

I decided to change things up a bit this week with the SCS Color Challenge. Karen is our hostess and she picked "shabby chic" for the dessert option. In the past few months I have gotten hooked on Nicole Magourik's Prima Doll pages that she does each month. I have collected quite a few of the doll stamps and this was the perfect challenge play with them.

I am going to have to "play" with all of my mixed media supplies more, lol. I kept this page pretty clean but it still has the shabby chic feel to it.

The journal page is 6x8 inches. I see an album full of these journal pages this year!  Enjoy!

Supplies:

Paper: Pink Pirouette, MME Lost and Found Market Street DP

It is the third Saturday of the month so that means SKETCH time with the Crazies!

I used this weeks Color Throwdown palette for my card colors. Very pretty combo!

In The Right Direction

Happy Tuesday!!
Is your week off to a good start? Mine started off with a 12 hour workday on Monday. Went to the bowling center down the street to practice and the cost was $14.00 for two hours of bowling. Yikes! I bowled six games just to get my money's worth, lol! I needed the practice though. Nationals is just around the corner and I haven't picked up a bowling ball since I started my new job five weeks ago....

My card today is for this weeks SCS Color Combination Challenge. If you don't know by now Vicki has a turquoise/indigo obsession, lol. We can count on her to pick these colors with a pop of color from the orange/red family. The dessert is flowers but I am dieting right now. My sister and brother in law were here visiting this past week and my sister was on a redfish kick. So I couldn't help myself with the "red fish" on my card.

I cut the circle out of the front of the card and attached an acetate sheet behind to give some dimension. This card will most likely go to my sweetheart as he is the person (besides my Mom) that steers me in the right direction when I am lost with one of life's lessons.

The layout for my card is this weeks MFT Wed Sketch Challenge.

Come on over and join in the challenge. We would love to see your creations in the gallery!
Enjoy!

Crazy4Challenges #281

Happy Happy Saturday!
It has been a while since I posted a card. A mean GI bug caught up with me last friday and then drove over to Gulf Breeze on Sunday. My new job keeps me busy. Long hours but love the challenge.

Lynn is bringing us the challenge this week. She says "Did you know that today is National Pet Day?  For our challenge this week, create a card or project using some type of pet as your inspiration."

I picked up this cute little stamp set quite some time ago and never have used it. I am an animal lover but my two cats are my favs.

I used this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #181 for the layout. But I didn't tilt the stamped panel.
If you decide to play along with us upload your card/project to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C279. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz on the Crazy4Challenges Blog, so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

All You Need Is Ice Cream!

Good Tuesday Morning!
Is your week going good? My daughter spent the weekend with me and she headed back home last night. Miss her already!

My card is for today's SCS Color Combination Challenge. Kim is our hostess and she says Dessert is something sweet. I went with Ice Cream!! I picked this stamp set up a while back because I loved how Jennifer McGuire used the set and made ice cream cones with texture paste. So I colored up some modeling paste and had some fun "scooping" ice cream! And yes sometimes all you need is ice cream!

The layout is from this week's Case This Sketch Challenge #116.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Ice Cream Dream
