Life Is Better...

Happy Tuesday!!
How is your week going? I am looking forward to some beach time this coming weekend!

My card is for today's SCS Color Combination Challenge~ Elegant and Delightful Cajun Meadow. Mary is our hostess this week and I really had to think about what kind of card to do with these colors. Fall? Nope not ready for that yet, Halloween? Maybe... Sunset scene? Yes!

I wanted to use this new MFT stamp set and today's colors are perfect for a sunset scene with a couple of cute owls. I wet the watercolor paper quite a bit and layered on the four colors. The owls and tree are colored with Copics.

Enjoy!

Crazy4Challenges~ HAPPY

Happy Saturday!
Can you believe it is AUGUST? Oh my. My summer is quickly passing by.....

With it being a new month, we have new challenges hosted by Frances and a new guest designer Anna Wight with us.
Frances says, "According to the holiday insights web site which list special days for the month, this month is Admit You're Happy Month. To kick start our month of challenges let’s create a card that includes the word 'Happy' on it."

I have been taking the Online Card Class "Background Check" and wanted to give one of Jennifer McGuire's techniques a try.  I sponged distress inks on a card front gradient style. Placed a stencil on top and pounced a baby wipe all over. Then, I cut six strips at an angle on the card front and placed a piece of acetate behind the top piece and added back every other strip at the bottom. The "happy" is cut from metallic card stock. The birthday sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card.

If you decide to play along with us upload your card/project to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C297. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz on the Crazy4Challenges Blog, so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

Adventure Awaits You

Happy Saturday!!
It is HOT HOT HOT here in New Orleans!

It is time for the Crazies and our last challenge for the month. Can you believe it is almost AUGUST???  Karen says "Make It Royal! Use Royal Colors and/or Royal Images- your choice"

I have been dabbling in Mixed Media and Art Journaling lately. It has drawn me in....
So I created an art journal page using purple, red, blue and gold~ My red looks orange in the pic for some reason. It was hard to photograph too since I sprayed Perfect Pearls Mix on it.

I cut the feathers out of watercolor paper with Kelly Purkey Feather dies. Put some distress ink on my craft mat and sprayed with water. Then dabbed the feathers in the mix. I used a sponge to color the butterfly. The journal page is painted with black chalkboard paint. I used a stencil and gold embossing paste for the upper and lower corners. Couldn't stop there, lol. There is a coat of clear Wink of Stella on the feathers and butterfly.

If you decide to play along with us upload your card/project to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C296. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz on the Crazy4Challenges Blog, so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

I happen to love critters and especially Koala bears so I pulled out a cute stamp from SU, Kind Koala.
