Olives and Cherries in the Sky

Good Tuesday Morning!
Got your week off to a good start? I was beginning to wonder. Yesterday was totally nerve racking, lol!!

My card is for today's SCS Color Combination Challenge~Olives and Cherries in the Sky. Karen is our hostess and her dessert option is fussy cutting. The only thing I cut and fussed over was the ribbon. It was a bear to work with tonight, lol! I have had this Santa colored up and ready for a card for over a year now. Thought I better use him! Thank you Mary!!

The layout for my card is this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #166.
I flipped it sideways and got out a stash of red rhinestones for the scalloped element.
Come on over and join in the challenges!
Enjoy!

Crazy4Challenges #266~Winter Themed Birthday

Happy Saturday!
Hope your weekend is getting off to a good start! I am "meeting up" with some fellow paper crafters this morning for our first get together. Cannot wait!

Heather is our hostess for this week and next week's challenges and then the Crazies will be off until after the first of the year.  So come on over and finish  out the rest of this years challenges with us!

The challenge today is to make a winter themed birthday card. I used the Stampin Up! All Is Calm DP to make gift boxes. The bow and string is the Memory Box Crisp Bows die. The sentiment is from the SU For The Birds set.

If you decide to play along with us upload the card to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C266. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

My Copic Storage

Happy Wednesday!

Over the past few years I have had various Copic Storage ideas based on my collection starting small and growing over time. I recently went to a Copic Boot Camp in Arizona and a lot of the ladies brought their Copic collections with them. I really liked the Extra Deep Art Bin with the lighting grids. I had a smaller version with a Really Useful 11 liter box but with that size you could not put a lid on the case and go anywhere. I also had trouble from time to time with the marker lids coming off and having to fish them out of the grids.
When I came home from Boot Camp I decided I wanted a case to hold my total marker collection. (At some point I will have all 358 sketch markers, lol) I also wanted to be able to carry the case with me on road trips. It is so hard to pick out a few markers to bring with you. Always bring the wrong ones or not enough...

So....I was wandering around in Hobby Lobby one day and this box caught my eye. It is artsy, has wonderful sayings on it and was the perfect size to put the Copic Plastic 72 Sketch Marker holders inside!

I bought some quarter inch wood boards at Lowe's and Bill cut them to fit inside to sturdy up the box. We hot glued them in place.

The boards then got a coat of acrylic black paint. The handle is a cabinet drawer pull I purchased at Lowe's as well

I placed six of the marker cases inside using some glue dots so they would not move but if I decided to rearrange, they will come out easily.

Copics are now inside with room to grow! With the lid shut, the markers do not move, but I might put a thin piece of foam on top of them if I travel.

There you have it! My Copic storage solution solved!

SCS Color Combination Challenge #508

Good Tuesday Morning!
The weather is cooler here and that helps with getting in the Christmas spirit. The tree is up, yard lights done, Christmas Snow Village is in progress and Bill started on holiday baking yesterday with some white chocolate dipped pretzels.  Yum!!

My card is for today's SCS Color Combination Challenge~ Chocolate Crumb Party. Vicki is our hostess this week and her dessert option is a Christmas tag or card. I slid one more card in....
I just love the colors this week and cased a card from Pinterest that I saw the other day. Love the simplicity!

Come on over and join in the challenge! We choose weekly favorites and have a Pinterest board for even more inspiration!

Enjoy!

Stamps: SU Festive Flurry, Holiday Home

Crazy4Challenges~Square Dance Day

Happy Saturday!
Hope all you U.S. folks enjoyed Thanksgiving. This is the second year we did not travel to Tennessee. My daughter Vanessa cooked a fabulous turkey and with a little dressing, sweet potato casserole, creamed corn, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie we were STUFFED!

So on to today's C4C challenge!
Frances is our hostess for the last challenge in November. She says...
"Apparently today is Square Dance Day, so to celebrate let’s get those square cards, dies etc out! Bonus points if you incorporated Dancing somehow on your card as well."

I went through ALL of my stamps and could not find one thing that had anything to do with dancing whether it was an image or a sentiment. So I guess there are no extra points for me today, lol!!

I am still in the Christmas card mode. I love these Hero Arts Reindeer!
I used the colors from this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #320. The silver strips on my card did not photograph very well but you can see a little reflection on the top one.

The card layout is from this week's Freshly Made Sketches #164.
If you decide to play along with us upload the card to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C264. Don't forget to link it on Inlinkz so that everyone else can see it too. Go check out what the Crazies came up with this week!

Crazy4Challenges #263~ Hello!

Good Saturday morning! Last Saturday was cold here. Today 70's. Gotta love it!

It is time for the Crazies and Frances says...
Yesterday was World Hello Day … So for our challenge this week let’s create a card that says “Hello”. Bonus points if your card shows some way that we can say Hello … eg by using speech bubbles on your card, using a phone stamp/die; using letters/envelopes on your card; Image of someone sending or delivering mail; saying Hello is different languages etc.

I pulled out the MFT Transformables Say Hello set and had me some fun!

The colors are from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #319
